”This a charming and beautiful old building. The individual rooms and common spaces are inviting, and sitting on the lanai with a view of Honolulu is wonderful! The owners provide a simple but filling breakfast and a coffee station and fridge near the sleeping quarters. All staff were welcoming and receptive to questions. If you’re looking for accommodation away from the Waikiki area, or near UH, this is a great choice. We would definitely stay here again! ”

For a hostel style hotel, it is the quietest one I've ever been to, despite the usual noise of folks getting up, talking, existing, etc. As for the pods, if I could change anything, it would be the steps to the top bunk. I was fine with it and it's doable for someone who is more able bodied. However, for those who lack upper body strength and even balance, it would be tricky to get up and down without hurting...

And quiet enough to sleep in the upper floors atleast (I was on the 18th floor) even though there are cars driving in Waikiki center. Bed was very good in my taste. The breakfast was good enough because I got plenty of fruits and eggs (I don't eat meat). There is a water refill station in the lobby. Cosmopolitan queen room was nice, and nice city view...
