”Staff are very friendly including the restaurant staff. This hotel represents good value for money and is comfortable. You can hear the trains in certain parts of the hotel which is mentioned in the hotel description, we stay at the weekend so it wasn’t really an issue but during the week I would opt for a room at the other side of the hotel which is clear when booking a room. If in the area would stay again.”

”We loved the features throughout the building. The beams, low ceilings, uneven floors...really kept the character of the building. Rooms were nice albeit a bit strange having the shower in the room and not in the ensuite but good use if available space given grade 2 listed building regulations.”

”What a lovely hotel! Really excellent customer service from all of the staff. I had requested a room with exposed timber beams, and on check in, the member of staff (sorry, I didn't catch your name) went out of his way to ensure that this was what we got. The room was lovely! Beautifully furnished with sumptuous fabrics, comfortable bed and sofa. There is plenty of parking which seemed very safe. The hotel is in the middle of the small village, so well located for exploring. Also easy to walk to...

”Superb "Inn Style" accommodation. Above a local pub so access to food really easy. Cosy well kept room with fridge, very comfy bed and clean bathroom. Really close to the main town, shops, places to eat. ”

”Superb hospitality here and the staff were extremely helpful. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet. For those travelling by train, it takes about 25-30mins to walk into the centre of Reading, but is only 10 mins by bus and these are frequent. I stayed here on a work trip. I would have liked a bath to relax into at the end of a long day, but I guess you can't have everything!”
