  • At Mermaid’s Delight you wake up to the sun rising over the Atlantic and sip your coffee on the deck while the waves roll in. This single-family beachfront house in Murrells Inlet sits behind natural dunes, a rare find in a market of condos. Watch the kids splash in the pool, shared by only 10 homes, then walk down to the sand. Dogs welcome. Made for family beach weeks, golf getaways, and quiet off-season escapes.

    Ocean views from every level. Both king rooms look out over the water and share a balcony, perfect for the first coffee of the day. The main level opens to a deck with stairs down to the pool and the beach, so you can watch the kids in the water while you cook or relax. There’s room for the whole family: two king rooms, plus two bunk rooms for kids and cousins. The kitchen is fully equipped, laundry is in the house, and 500 Mbps fiber WiFi covers the whole home. The master suite has a work space and each bedroom has a Roku TV. Linens and towels are included, along with starter supplies for the kitchen and bath. Beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, and boogie boards are provided, and yoga mats and a Pilates kit are ready for morning workouts.

    Dogs are welcome: up to 2 at $75 per night, with no deposit. Morning walks start right at the dunes.

    The whole house is yours. The pool, beach access, outdoor showers, and grass area are shared with only the 10 homes in Portofino I. The pool is heated April through October and Thanksgiving week. Parking: room for up to 4 cars, under the house and on the driveway, one behind the other. No parking pass needed. A free public lot about 250 feet south is available for daytime overflow.

    Portofino I is a small neighborhood of only 10 homes in the Garden City Beach area of Murrells Inlet, with direct beach access.

Great stay! Enough beds for all 13 of our family. Walk right out to beach and pool ! Beautiful. Pool is shared but never overly busy and we were able to get chairs everyday. Would stay again

The location was excellent, close to the beach and the pool. Liked that the one master bedroom had a twin bed, too, for a young child. The kitchen was well stocked.

This property was in nice location on the beach, but we were surprised that it was in the middle of Garden City beach because the listing is Murrell's Inlet. We were not allowed to used Shibumis or beach tents per regulations so were caught off guard by this. The house slept our group of 9 comfortably, but could definitely use some attention in terms of upkeep to plumbing fixtures, outdoor furniture, and beach chairs that are provided.

The pictures of what was listed was exactly how it was. Fantastic view and access of the beach and ocean. Lots of space for guests and kitchen supplied with all basic things needed. Great location to many things in the area. Host was quick to respond to any questions we had. Would stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay at Mermaid's Delight! The house is just steps from the beach. We enjoyed ocean views from both levels of the home. The house was clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was great within walking distance to the pier, and the host made communication and check in seamless. We will definitely book again!

Absolutely PERFECT spot for a Dads Myrtle Beach weekend golf getaway. Centrally located to the courses both north and south. PLENTY of space in a beautiful location directly on the beach. Pool is basically connected and we were the only group in it over the weekend. Felt like our own. Just an awesome, awesome space with a tremendous beach. The views from the patio each morning were worth the price of admission. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Myrtle.

The beach was excellent. We love the view from the porch. We tried to use the pool, but it was too cold as far as water temperature. It would’ve been nice if they had had the heated option available for the kids. Even with the 70 weather that we had a couple of days the pool was too cold to get in

Great property and location

Absolutely loved this location and home. You can see the ocean out of nearly every window. The beach & pool were super close and we loved not having a pool curfew. The house has everything you'll need.

Family vacation 2023

Wonderful location right on the beach! Beautiful clean home with plenty of room. Gorgeous views . Only down side was our older family member had a little trouble climbing the steps. But perfect place for a vacation!

We’re Delighted Mermaids Now!!

This house was perfect for our family of 16! It was clean and well stocked. The pool was closer than it appeared and never crowded, which was perfect for the younger grandkids. The beach access was WOW! We were so close we could sit on the porch and feel like we were on the beach!!! Awesome vacation!!! Hope to do it again!

The biggest positives of this property are the location and the view, both of which were excellent and made for an enjoyable beach vacation. We also appreciated that the host was responsive and communicated promptly whenever we reached out regarding maintenance issues.Unfortunately, the property did not meet our expectations due to poor cleanliness and overall condition.Upon arrival, the home felt dirty and grimy rather than clean. The bathrooms were particularly disappointing - they are very outdated, had visible dirt and buildup, and several plumbing fixtures barely functioned. The sheets and towels provided were stained and had hair on them, and the bath towels were unusually small. It also appeared that the turnover between guests had not been fully completed, as the dishwasher was still full when we arrived.The outdoor amenities were another disappointment. Several patio chairs were broken, and the chair backs detached when leaning back, creating a potential safety hazard. The beach chairs and other beach equipment were also in poor condition (rusted, partially broken), and no beach towels were provided.Fortunately there was a Walmart nearby where we were able to purchase bath towels, beach towels, cleaning supplies and other necessary household items. Overall, the location and view are wonderful, but the property’s cleanliness, maintenance, and overall upkeep significantly impacted our experience.

Family Vacation

Quiet and calm place to stay! Pool is right off the porch and so convenient. Also heated. House was immaculate. Only downside is the joining shower upstairs runs out of hot water quick! Besides that everything was perfect!

Property as described. Disappointing to have to purchase linen service for 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms plus kitchen towels. Location beautiful and house comfortably accomodated 7 adults and 4 kids.

Our trip was ruined by a hurricane and we were only at the property for 3 days and had to leave and we were not offered any money back at all not very happy about the owner not offering us money back knowing we couldn’t stay with the weather

Overall we had a nice stay. The location is great and mostly what you are paying for. The house is right next to the boardwalk and pool. Beautiful ocean views from the porch. The AC broke midway through our stay. They had it fixed within a few hours. It broke again our last day and they were not able to fix before we left which was disappointing.

Right on the beach!

We had a wonderful family trip at this property. While we were a little surprised at how busy the area was because of the public beach access, The closeness to the beach made it much easier for my elderly parents to get from the house to the beach quickly. The house was clean enough when we arrived, but we did some cleaning before we moved all of our stuff in. We used the suggested linen service, which was great, easy and affordable as well as the umbrella/chair rental place. My biggest complaint would be that the bathrooms upstairs are in great need of renovation. Overall, however, we had a great time and the property was good for our family.

Right on the ocean

Mermaid's Delight was definitely delightful. I traveled with three other women. Everything was clean and well taken care of. We spent many happy hours sitting on the deck watching the sunrises and the pink in the sky of the sunsets behind us. We walked the beach and watched the people walking the beach. The house was centrally located--20 minutes to the Myrtle Beach boardwalk, or the outlet malls, or Pawley's Island.. We didn't do a lot of cooking but the kitchen met our needs. My only complaint is the TV setup. It is only Roku/streaming so no access to local news/weather, and for us older people who still have cable TV, it was frustrating. But truly, that was our only complaint. We would definitely stay at Mermaid's Delight again. We loved it!!

Great place to stay!

The house was great and a very comfortable fit for our family of 12! Loved that it is right on the beach and the views were priceless. We had teenagers and two four year olds with us and 6 adults. It was so nice having the convenience of the beach right there for the kids to go out by themselves and we could watch from the balcony! The place was extremely clean and well stocked with all kitchen needs. Anytime I had a question for the owners they answered right away. Overall it was a great trip and we will definitely be staying here again!

Perfect location, beautiful views!

Great location, nice private beach steps away. Comfortable accommodations, rooms are a good size and they optimized the space with bunk beds. Top bunks are squeaky but ok for kids. Shared bath could use upgrading. Had issues with a clogged drain but the owner responded quickly and got someone over to fix it within 2 days. Linens and towels were extra and are left outside for guests to make the beds. Would have liked the linens to be included and already on the beds. The pool was very convenient and a nice size. Good alternative on extra hot beach days. Two balconies off the house face the ocean, great for morning coffee or happy hour! (Air conditioning was exceptional with two zones.)
