Neighboring houses were a little close but the breeze off of the ocean pretty much wiped out the sound coming from them. There was less soap in the house than we would have liked for 11 people but overall it was a great spot.

Fabulous Beach Week

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a fabulous week at the Sanderling. The only glitch we had was when we arrived. The house was not clean but a Garden City Realty staff member was on site. Regina was so helpful. She apologized for the mix up and was cleaning herself. She quickly called in additional assistance and the house was spotless in no time. We were all impressed. It would be helpful to know exactly what amenities are provided or not (trash bags, toilet paper, etc), it would also be helpful to know what tv channels are available for sporting events. Thank you for an absolutely fabulous beach week!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: the place we originally rented was dirty and the heat was broken.they moved us to another property and it was dirty,dead bugs in kitchen and in one of the beds, and vacuum was broke. We were first to use property that season and hadn't been aired out, it wasn't a good experience. We were made to feel by Garden City Realty as though heat,water, electricity and cleanliness was a luxury!

Great location-But several issues with property

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location and view were outstanding, however there were several issues. It is overpriced for the condition of the rental property and limited accommodations. 1. The washer and dryer were not on the main level rather in a closet outside and one level below. The bathrooms join the two rooms and this was hard to tell looking at the virtual tour. Should be disclosed prior to rental. 2.Mold and mildew obvious in bathrooms. 3. Remotes were all over the house and several did not work. All TVs are outdated. We never could figure out how to get the DVD or surround sound to work 4. The outdoor shower is in a closet downstairs 5. THe cleaners need to do a better Job. This in itself could make a big difference 6. Walking in on the first day and finding large dead roaches right on the carpet in the middle of the room is not encouraging, especially right after the cleaners are there. 8. Mouse droppings at various locations. water leaking under the sink 9. Ceiling fans and AC vents were filthy with dust. Should be cleaned every so often. Ceiling fans are old and outdated-should replace 10. The carpet is not where you would have your kids sitting and playing a board game. They are bad and need a deep cleaning or replacement. 11. The lighting is poor and some of the lights need replacing If not for the people at Garden state,this could have been a disaster. They were very accommodating, supportive and professional with all of our issues. I would give them a 10 on how they handled our concerns throughout the week. THe only problem was that we had people knocking at our door every day for the first 3 days of our vacation. Small modifications could make for a much nicer place to visit. In the end we had an ok time. FYI-The duct work under the carport has large holes in it. You are losing all your A/C and lots of money. It could be how the insects are getting into the house as well. The view, porches and beach access was exactly as reflected in the information. The home was a mile and a half from the Pier with an uncrowded, quiet beach. The owners supplied everything that we needed, including plenty of boogie boards and beach chairs. Sanderling was wonderfully simple, basic and homey...a true old fashioned family beach house. It was perfect for the five of us. Thanks for the rental!

A Few Issues

But this year there were a few maintinenc problems all the street side lights were blown out, and the flood lights didn't work. We had no garbage can, the toaster didn't work and there were still bugs. We did tell the office about everything except the lights as it was the end of out stay. All in all we wouldn't stay anywhere else.
