Tasokasta lomailua
Olin lapsenlapseni kanssa ensi kertaa Napolissa, ohikulkumatkaa lukuunottamatta. Emme olisi voineet saada parempaa yleisvaikultelmaa kahden yön virailumme aikana Napolista, minkä saimme vuoren rinteellä sijaitsevasta hotellistamme. Illallispöydässä ihailimme jalokivien lailla Vesuviuksen rinteille ilmestyviä valoja. Kuu nousi vuorten takaa tummuvassa etelän lämmössä. Päivän aikana kävlimme 10 kilometriä Napolin kujilla hullun liikenteen seassa. Huoneemme (huoneistomme) oli mahtava, josta myös saatoimme ihailla alla levittäytyvää Napolia. Hotelli oli rakentunut vanhaan Fransescon munkkiluostariin eli myös kulttuurihistoriaa, joka aina sisältyy Italian matkailuumme, tuli samalla yöpymisellä. Suosittelemme hotellia lämpimästi.

Hotelli Napolin yläpuolella
Vanhasta luostarista tehty hieno hotelli. Huoneemme ei ollut kunnossa kun saavuimme ja meidät sijoiteettiin toiseen hotelliin yhdeksi yöksi. Vähän ärsytti mutta meni sujuvasti, hoitivat esim. matkatavarat kun olimme kaupungilla. Saimme korvaukseski junior sviitin, joka oli oikein kiva. Kannattaa opetella käyttämään Funiculaaria, sillä pääsee näppärästi ylös ja alas.

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during a 1-week holiday in Naples with my wife. We were upgraded to Junior Suite for a price of standard room, which was a very pleasant surprise. The hotel is located a bit outside of the city center on top of a hill but within a decent walking distant from the historic center of Naples. The view from the 7th floor pool area and restaurant is absolutely stunning.

Hienolla paikalla
Hotelli vain alle kilometrin historiallisesta keskustasta mutta vaatii silti kulkuvälineen koska ylhäällä rinteellä. Funicolarella, jonne 7 minuutin kävely, pääsee kätevästi keskustaan. Hyvä aamiainen ja erittäin hyvä palvelu. Tasokas hotelli, vanha fransiskaniluostari joka muutettu aistikkaasti hotelliksi. Hyvät näkymät keskustaan ja Napolin lahdelle.

The air conditionin unit in our room was incredibly noisy and almost unusuable. We had to get up at 3 am to open the windows to cool the room. We were unable to sleep comfortably due to the noise. The A/C unit sounded like it was coming apart. I reported the problem to the front desk in the morning, and i was told that a technician was going to check the unit up. The next evening, the problem was exactly the same, either their maintenance person(s) are incompetent, or they jist don't care to fix the unit, probably to save money. I would strongly warn any possible victims that are planning to spend any time in this hotel during the upcoming summer months !!

Swimming pool and dining terraces were superb , wonderful views out over the bay of Naples. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The Vignetto dining spot was memorable with great reasonably priced food in a beautiful setting. The funiculare railway is the best way to get down into Naples centre and only takes a few minutes. Taxi are also plentiful and fast and relatively cheap.

Would never come back
I hate to leave negative reviews, but I wish I would have read this before booking. We’re shocked that the hotel has such positive ratings as we really didn’t enjoy our stay - it is definitely not a 4 star hotel and I promise there are better options in Italy! Overall, the common areas and interiors are very worn down and dated, not in an authentic and charming way as depicted in photos. Our room being on the same floor as the restaurant, we could always hear staff, trolleys and slamming doors. Our shower had no water pressure, making it impossible to wash long hair, and the water was either freezing cold or burning hot. When mentioned to the receptionists, they said they’d try to repair it but it didn’t work. We went to check out the pool area, which was really small and disappointing - very happy we didn’t pay the extra charge to use it. The area is really unpleasant and dirty, and we discovered a cockroach in the pool restroom. The breakfast was probably the worst part of it all. While the selection was similar to other small Italian hotel breakfasts, the quality was the worst and it was just an overall unappealing experience. The few pastries and cut fruit weren’t covered so flies were hovering over it. The glasses, cutlery and dishes were not properly clean, and the whole place felt dirty and sticky. We’re giving this hotel 3 stars, solely for the view (which is lovely) and its central location close to major sights. I would never come back and never recommend it.

A unique boutique hotel set overlooking Naples Bay easily reached by funicular. Being a former monastery, the plumbing needs a little forgiveness but the rooms are decorated stylishly with plenty of space. The terrace and pool area make for great relaxation after exploring the city. Be aware this hotel is a popular wedding venue and wedding guests seem to take precedence over staying guests, having to vacate the pool area by 5pm, the Terrace on occasion for private parties, and late at night be subjected to rowdy crowds leaving. I’d like to see management get a better balance here for future guests.

The hotel is in an old monastery. The building & gardens are beautiful. The view from the rooftop is gorgeous. However, the hotel feels little forgotten. The staff can only be seen in the front desk & pool area. However, the service by the pool is bad. They barely come to see if you need anything to drink. The pool is frigid cold. There's a grotto where a jacuzzi used to be, but now is empty. The gardens, though beautiful are unkempt. The close the pool at 5 & there are wedding often on the rooftop. The guests cannot access the rooftop after 5 if there is an event, which is often. The area is quiet & calm, but not close to dining. You'll need a taxi for mostly everthing. I think next time, I'd skip this place & head down to the area by the Castelo del Ouvo.

Dear Claudia, thank you fr your comments. Old monastery are always located in peaceful place calm and quiet, to relax your mind from busy days. Staff is locacate where guests are: so at the reception and along the swimming pool where we have bar and restauarant service from 9 am to 5 pm, then we open the restuarant and bar on the 4th floor from 5pm to midnight. Along the swimming pool we have the lifeguard in charge of towels and sunbeds and the bar with one person always present, on the other side of the terrace we have the restaurant with other 2/3 waiters. The hotel only have 45 rooms so not so big to require hudreds of staff. The rules of the pool are always explained in all websites and are reminded to all guests at the moment of your reservation and automatic confirmation you receive. To reach places of interest is not necessary to take a taxi each time, only 500 meters right and left to the hotel you have the stop of the cable car (a sort of underground along the hillside) and in 5 minutes you reach via Toledo istitutional center or Piazza Dante historical center where you have shops and restaurants.

Fina rum, god mat, hjälpsam personal. Fin pool men lite liten. Bra frukost med bubbel att kunna blanda en egen Mimosa eller Bellini. Utsikten från rummet var fantastisk. En av stadens bästa, om inte den bästa, takterrass!

Unfortunately have to give this hotel a bad review :( we stayed here for 2 nights and it wasn’t the best. We were told we couldn’t bring outside food into the hotel which is very strange. When we called the front desk to have something sent to our room it never came or we had to call twice to remind them. The bathrooms weren’t cleaned very well and on top of everything my boyfriend and I woke up with bites on us … potentially bedbugs 😣 the property itself is nice but not sure how this is a 4 star hotel other than that
