We stayed at the Mickey Mouse Cottage for five days and four nights with my 5 year old, 3 year old and 15 month old and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The Welcome Packet that the owners send ahead of time was incredibly detailed and had every piece of information you could need--passwords, nearest grocery stores, detailed instructions for trash pickup, etc. The pool was incredible and my kids LOVED the splash pad and water slides. (Though, beware--the splash pad is not heated. Once you get used to the water though, it's a BLAST!) The food at the on-site Marketplace Grill is delicious and the kids meals come with several sides--including a fun tattoo, making it extra special. Easy walk to the pool, even for little legs, making this spot ideal for families.
What set this property apart though was the responsiveness of the owner. He was quick to respond to questions and feedback. For instance, a few of the nightlights no longer worked, which was no big deal. But I thought I'd let him know anyways. By the time we got back after a day at the park, new nightlights were on the kitchen table. We also had a 5 p.m. flight out and we asked (very last minute) for a late checkout if no one was scheduled to arrive the day we departed, and he was super accommodating, which allowed my kids an extra two hours at the pool! We were especially grateful as we would be flying back to 19-degree weather up North. That extra time in the sun was a God send!
My kids were devastated to leave, and when we return to Orlando, we plan to stay again--next time, checking out the Mickey Mouse Farmhouse!
