”We always try and stay at the hotel because our family live close by.”

”Nice place, the harder to reach places had cob webs but everything else spot on”

”Room was barely clean whilst half lights not working. Rails to stairs hadn’t been cleaned in ages and covered in grime. At busy times the bar staff were useless more intent on chatting than helping out else where. Food was ok but the breakfast was about the worst I’d had anywhere. On one good note the chap on night duty was really helpful.”

Kannaltamme harmillista oli, ettei golfklubilla ollut vuokramailoja, niinpä jouduimme pelaamaan muulla kentällä.”

”Excellent breakfast. Overall price was quite high for a country pub hotel, but I was well looked after and enjoyed being able to sit out on the patio dining area in the evening.”

”Tidy n clean rooms, but tired looking building and corridors. Free Parking, excellent location next to train station, Tescos, local takeaways, would stay again if travelling that way.”

”Beds were terrible we had 2 single twins so not comfortable i woke up on the first night with awful back ache like never before I could of cired when I woke up. My mum has fibro all her bones where hurting her when she got up they put extra mattress topper on but didn't make any better I had to sleep in the chair that was more comfortable when complaining the lads didn't understand it was the manager we will not be staying at hilton hotel again it was very disappointing”

”What a fabulous place to stay. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The pub and the outdoor areas are wonderful the food and drinks plentiful and delicious. We stayed in Bluebell room which had everything you could possibly need including toiletries water tea/coffee iron in fact all you need is your clean undies 😂 added bonus we sat and watched the world cup final outside with a great bunch of people from all over the world. Excellent place for visiting Downton Abbey (Highclere Castle) would...

”This is a very old Inn with oak beams and uneven floors. The facilities were good however the room was unbearably hot. Even though we had 2 fans on we were just covered in sweat as soon as we came out of the shower. It was impossible to sleep.”

”A small pub and hotel with very nice ambience and rooms. Friendly staff, nice breakfast and a cozy lounge. Single paned windows let in some road noise and chill.”

”Great location for Newbury racecourse. Very friendly and helpful staff. Superb breakfast with a good selection Rooms a good size with desk and sofa and a nice bathroom, air-con would be a welcome addition though. Would recommend”

”Whilst the staff and facilities were good, I was disappointed with the food. I had the coronation chicken terrine starter.which had a large piece of chicken skin in it. The staff offered me a replacement which I declined and they did not charmed for it. I later asked if I could have fresh fruit for dessert which the said would be available for breakfast. At breakfast the only fresh fruit available was watermelon. I may be picky but I feel that these minor items should be catered for.”

”Wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it. It’s a shame as it’s in beautiful grounds and the hall looks stunning as you arrive up the drive: it’s shabby and in need of TLC. I wasn’t in the main hotel I was in an out building a good 5 min walk away. I had to eat at the hotel as the local pub is closed on a Monday. Don’t look at the website it’s out of date. Food menu was limited. I didn’t have breakfast - I suspect it wouldn’t have been nice! On a positive the girl behind the bar was lovely.”
