First time in Paris and was unsure where to stay but this hotel proved to be good value in an expensive city. The room was very clean and hotel staff spoke good English. The location was great with Sacre Coeur a 15minute walk and major Train Stations Gare De Nord and Gare De L'Est were an easy 20minute walk. Walk 10 to 15 minutes in any direction and there were plenty of shops and cafes. To get into central Paris I simply walked 10minutes to Anvers Metro train station and took the M2 line to Charles De Gaulle Etoile station which took around 20 minutes. Following the signs at the station I came out at the Champs Elysee within 100m of the Arc de Triomphe and from there you can catch the Big Bus tour or just walk to the major sites like the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre.

I stayed at Hotel Marena for a short weekend visit to Paris. I was on a budget and this hotel seemed to strike a good balance in terms of location and overall look and feel. The hotel is about 15 minutes on foot from Gare du Nord so it’s ideal if, like me, you are travelling on the Eurostar from London. I was able to find the hotel easily and when I arrived I was greeted by a pleasant man who checked me in quickly. I was asked to put my card down for a refundable pre-authorisation amount of Euro 100 which is pretty standard and was quickly given my room key. I didn’t pay for breakfast, however I wasn’t asked if I wanted to pay for it or even given details of timing and location. Equally I wasn’t told anything about WiFi. I already had both pieces of information when I got to the hotel so I didn’t need to ask but for a less informed traveller it might be nice to know and would make for a warmer welcome. My room was on the third floor. I’m not fond of lifts so I took the, very narrow, staircase. It was fine as I didn’t have much luggage but the hallways and stairs are indeed really narrow and, as I found out later, the walls are very thin. Luckily I had considerate neighbours so no one bothered me but I could definitely hear conversations, doors opening and closing, etc. I had a single cosy room - definitely on the smaller size but well appointed and most importantly extremely clean. There’s no safe and the shower doesn’t have a glass so it will splash everywhere.

The staff are so polite and friendly. We stayed here based on location to Gare Du Nord station after our Eurorail service was cancelled. It was fine for a 1 nighter but the room was small and with 3 of us and 4 large suitcases it was quite cramped.

This was my second visit, the first since renovations. My room , I think, had not been renovated yet, but It was very clean, very quiet, and not too small for a Paris hotel room in such a perfect location. The staff was more than courteous and helpful. I hope that the next time I come the door of my room looks more like the pictures shown on the site, there are no toiletries (but good liquid soap and hair dryer). It is in a real Paris neighborhood, with easy access to the metro, small shops and very good (non touristy restaurants).I will definitely go back to this hotel if it is available when I next visit Paris.

Pleasantly surprised!
We were a group of 3 and were so pleasantly surprised with how clean and comfy this room was! The bedding was excellent, towels super big and soft and it was so clean! The icing on the cake was definitely watching the sunrise over the cathedrals of Notre dame from our room window! Wow!

The hotel is small but clean and is 20 minutes to Eurostar station and 30 minutes to Opéra however l had problems to find the hotel. I was not able to charge my phone and iPad l took to the reception to charge for me. The receptionist is friendly and try to assist customer.

Sana at reception was such a great resource and extremely helpful at all times. She went out of her way to assist at all times even with booking a hair apt!!! Housekeeping was great with fresh and clean towels each day. Although the rooms were extremely compact the location was excellent and for a short stay one of the best. Thank you Sana!

We had a wonderful stay . The hotel is located perfectly close to all the Paris spots you would like to visit such as the Chamse Elisee etc. I must thank the staff at Marena hotel especially Sana in the front desk that helped us with directions and recommended places to eat and also got us a late check out as our flight was leaving at night. We will book this hotel again

This hotel is quite lovely - small but very! well appointed with some nice touches, hot water kettle with tea/coffee/cups provided, very! quiet and nice comfy bed and pillows, and very nice desk staff. Not far from Gare du Nord (closer than Gare du l’est). (I walked from both locations).

Small cramped hotel stay with a good staff effort
The quality of the rooms vary from poor (small and difficult to manage) to fair. The bathroom showers are terribly designed, spreading water everywhere. The towels provided are among the BEST we've experienced - large and clean. The staff at the front desk are accommodating. The location is close to MontMarte and accessible by foot to buses/metro. The internet service was poor - intermittent and variable at best.

convenient, very clean, excellent front desk service in day time, everything you need except mini fridge/ice/access to their fridge. no way to keep things cold and for me that’s important. otherwise terrific and very convenient 15 min walk to Gare du Nord (take the RER B train from the airport) and Gare de l’Est. near pigalle and St. george’s.
