Eroded chalk beach, Telscombe Cliffs This erosion pattern, with ridges and channels at right angles to the shore, is the same all the way along this chalk coast. This area is best approached on a spring low tide! The photograph was taken 5 or 10 minutes after scheduled low tide, and the turn was just detectable.

Nice hotel, but the service could be better
The room was nice and the location of the hotel at the beach is excellent as was the breakfast. The tv in our room didn’t work and we complained three times about it at the reception, but nothing happened 😵

Booked a suite. Arrived early, asked if any chance to get a room earlier because of travelling a lack of sleep. Told, the would call us if possible. No call.. sat at reseption… at 2pm asked again, reply was ”no it is 4pm”. Sat there and watched many guests check in at 2.30. We spoke to the manager ...

Great place to stay, plenty of room for our family with young children, super big tables inside and out. Lovely garden. Loved our visits to Rottingdean, Saltdean lido and the Smuggler's Rest for a nice Sunday lunch.
