The Space:

Step inside Jonathan's Lugar and look up. The original hand-hewn wood beam ceiling lined with handmade artisan terracotta tiles immediately tells you this is something special. Each tile is unique, made by hand, and one even has a dog's paw print fired into the clay, a small, perfect piece of Mexican history on the villa's main level (Floor 2). Warm, colorful walls and handcrafted Parota wood accents carry that authentic character throughout.

The king bed is dressed in luxury linens and the ensuite bathroom, one of the largest in the villa, features a rainfall shower and premium toiletries. The kitchenette handles reheated meals and morning coffee with ease, and the indoor dining table doubles as a work desk, comfortably seating 2 to 4. Step outside to the private balcony with café seating for two, a quiet perch over the cobblestone alley, perfect for morning coffee or an evening wind-down. High-speed fiber Wi-Fi up to 1 Gbps with backup rounds out everything you need for a comfortable, connected stay.

Guests also enjoy access to the villa's heated saltwater pool, a perfect spot to cool down and take in Vallarta's stunning sunsets over Banderas Bay, two shared terraces, honor bar, BBQ grill, and daily standard housekeeping Monday through Saturday. A Guest App with curated dining and activity recommendations is included, along with a link to our Smart Luxury Extras portal to request in-house massages, early check-ins, late checkouts, and concierge services including airport transfers, tours, and more.



Guest Access:

Guests can drive up to the house to drop off luggage. While parking isn't allowed in the alley, street parking is available nearby on adjacent streets. Guests and friends have never had an issue with their cars.



The Neighborhood:

Villa Amistad is located in El Cerro, one of Puerto Vallarta's original hillside neighborhoods overlooking Banderas Bay. Our small cobblestone alley is home to long-time Mexican families, a close-knit community where neighbors know each other and look out for one another. It feels authentic, lived-in, and safe.

Guests love staying here because they can enjoy the energy of the city, then return to a peaceful, local neighborhood that still feels genuinely Mexican.



Getting Around:

The Romantic Zone, Centro, and 5 de Diciembre neighborhoods are all within walking distance, most places 5 to 25 minutes on foot. The hill up to the villa is moderate; Ubers and taxis are plentiful and very affordable if you prefer. Local buses run along the main roads below for just 10 pesos.

Parking is not allowed on Arroyo del Pedregoso, but free street parking is available on nearby streets.

Families

Families with children are welcome, but please note the villa is not childproof. There is an unfenced pool, open stairs, low railings, and breakable artwork and pottery. No children's furniture or toys are provided. We encourage parents to reach out before booking to make sure the villa is the right fit.

Interaction with Guests:

We live onsite in private apartments, close enough to help whenever you need us and respectful enough to stay out of your way when you don't. You may occasionally see us tending to the villa or briefly using shared spaces when unoccupied, always with your comfort as our first priority.
