”The bar was well stocked great pub atmosphere. Our twin room was lovely and spacious. Beds were comfy. Host were friendly left us in peace. The back door was easy quick exit for leaving. There is room for improvement on the corridor to the stairs of our room. Overall would happily stay again. Did not try the food.”

Busy pub & restaurant- great breakfast included in the cost of the stay
Beautiful village with lots of history
Lots of dogs staying & visiting with diners
No lift (elevator) but they carried my bags up the stairs for me so that wasn't an issue
They give you a key to the outer door so if you're out late (like I was for a wedding in a nearby location), you just hold a key fob to the door & you have 24 hour access
They kept my bags free of charge so I could stroll...

”We enjoyed this fantastic location and thought it was excellent value for money. Our only complaint relates to the Coffee machines at breakfast. The coffee was tasteless and needs to be properly percolated with a better quality of ground coffee beans. Table service for coffee would be much better.”

”No evening meal due to chef needing time off, staff seemed to have no idea what was happening. Only food available in the area was pizza at a hostel across the road.
Breakfast room opened at 8:30 and consisted of help yourself Coco pops, croissants or toast, if you had an early start, nothing.
Overall a very poor experience.”

”Absolutely top recommendation for The Bowes Hotel! Everything was perfect, great room (Pottery Room for us), great staff, great beer, great food, great location. Absolutely nothing we did not like apart from leaving. A first visit which I really hope will not be our last. Great work by the team here.”
