    Relax and escape city life in this spacious open floor plan home with amazing sun lit room and Richmond beach ocean views...

    This peaceful beach cottage is a great quiet retreat -- fully furnished, complete with a sauna, a private picnic area, and a koi pond!

    5-minute walk to Richmond Beach, local distilleries, breweries as well as great restaurants and less than 2 minutes by car. This is your perfect home away from home!

    The Space:
    This cozy cottage is one of the last remaining original beach cottages at Richmond Beach. These cottages were built as weekend homes for the well-heeled of Seattle in the late 1800's. Folks would take the train up the coast from downtown Seattle in the days when there was still a train stop here, to get away from city life to the peaceful and beautiful views of Puget Sound which Richmond Beach is known and cherished for!

    The cottage has been lovingly restored retaining its rich history, with the addition of comfortable modern amenities as well as a private deck for guests nested in mature bamboo landscaping with an outdoor dining table and mediation bench, there is additionally an old-fashioned front porch, complete with rocking chair, and overlooking a tranquil Koi Pond.

    Moreover, Richmond Beach is an upscale and wonderfully quiet neighborhood, where long walks with water views are always a favorite -- you will surely have a fantastic time during your stay!

    Guest Access:
    * Guests will have access to the entire space.
    * Guest parking is available.

    Other Things to Note:
    * There is no Washer/Dryer in this unit.
    * Pets allowed with a refundable $200 deposit per pet.
    * The bottom floor is a storage shed that the cleaner and owners use from time to time.

    Please Note: A processing fee applies to all reservations. This fee is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation, regardless of the timing or reason for the cancellation. We encourage guests to review all reservation details carefully before booking.

We found the cottage a comfortable stay when visiting family in the Seattle. The location has a couple of views of Puget Sound and is just a short distance from Richmond Beach Saltwater Park. Our host, Jason, responded promptly to our questions. There is an excellent local casual dining restaurant, Blackbird, nearby and the cottage is not too far from the charming village of Edmonds which also offers excellent restaurants. We're happy to recommend the cottage.

Cozy Getaway

This cottage is a perfect getaway for a person or couple. It is aesthetically charming and had everything I needed. Great spot to recharge and work on crafts. Walking distance to a beach park as well as bars and restaurants.

1- When I got there the sign and gate are not visible as advertised. I passed it 3 times. I had to park partially in the grass and in the street. 2- The add says there is garage parking. NOT true! When I got the key and unlocked the door I had a hard time getting the door open. 3- The latch was sticking. When I got inside I was on the phone with my husband who was contacting the owner or whoever was managing the property on Expedia about the parking. I couldn’t get the door open from the inside. I’m claustrophobic and couldn’t get out. 4- The latch was sticking in the door wouldn’t open. Because of my claustrophobia, I freaked out when I couldn’t get out the door. My husband contacted this person who took 3 hours to get back to him. Finally, I was able to hit the door latch with my hand to get it open. 5- The person who he contacted once he did get back to him told us that they would send somebody out to look at the door latch, I had to make an appointment and they weren’t sure when they were going be able to come look at it. I didn’t have time to deal with somebody to come out and look at the latch. We informed that person that they could take care of it when I left. As far as the garage parking goes, they said that wasn’t offered. We told them that it was in the ad and they said it was a misprint. I didn’t see the sign with the persons contact # until much later hidden behind a plant. 6- beach view NONE. Personally I would not recommend. It’s not worth the price paid.

Lovely quaint. Had everything i needed for few days. Sauna looked lovely but it was jot so i didnt get a chance to check it out. Wifi was hood and they had a fan and on hot day that really helped circulate the ac. Met the owner and he made a lovely sushi suggestion. Thank you!

Cozy Cabin

We loved our stay at Jason's cabin. He was very attentive, friendly, and provided everything we needed in the cabin. The cabin itself felt very private and cozy. There was a heater and A/C unit provided in case it felt stuffy. The location was near the water and the view was so pretty. On the clear sunny days you can see Mt Olympus from across the water.

I would definitely stay in this charming cottage again. The neighborhood is residential and quiet. The view of the water adds to the peacefulness experienced in the cottage. It may have been a little difficult to find in the dark, but fortunately we easily found it in the day light.

Wow.

This cottage oozes charm and history. Every detail has been meticulously considered and the decorating is perfect, from historic photos of Richmond Beach families to original wood floors and cozy furniture. The bed is comfortable, the views are gorgeous (including the view overlooking the hosts’ lovely garden) and the location is wonderful. It’s a pleasant walk to the large waterfront park, restaurants and the towering trees of the library park. Oh yeah: the sauna is special.(One tip: there is no designated parking area, so park on the street right next to the private side gate that leads to the cottage.)

Get away weekend

Had a great time at the cottage for a long weekend painting retreat in Edmonds. Walkable to parks and restaurants if you’re ok with some hills. Wonderful tiny kitchen with everything you need. Would come back!

Wonderful Little Cottage

We booked a 3 week stay. Due to duration we needed a few extra essentials. They were immediately provided. Otherwise well equipped little cottage. Bed was comfortable. Views/sunsets spectacular. Excellent area with an abundance of things to do.

Cottage Beach vacation

Overall, everything was very nice. One thing that would make it better would be to cut the bamboo on the little sitting area in the back to allow a view of the Sound. There is a ladder leaning on the back of the cottage wall and a chair on the roof. Remove tbese. this. )

A cozy pet friendly home with big views and some things to consider

The place is full of charm and the cottage is cozy. We love Richmond beach and the views were tops and the neighborhood was quiet. Note - this house is an ADU, so while you have your private house, this is also a bit of a shared space with respect to the yard. The front porch faces the main house and doesn't feel super private, and the koi pond you can see, but not get to because it's part of the main house. The bamboo zen area is much quieter and much more private. Parking and entering is tricky. You don't get instructions ahead of time which makes it challenging and the entrance IS steep and windy. If you have mobility issues, this will be tricky. The garbage process also requires you to walk around to the front of the main house, which isn't SUPER far, but far enough that if you have mobility issues this could present another challenge. The house is pet friendly so you may find some leftover pet hair from a previous furry friend. :/ If you are like me, this might bother you. We loved the dry heat of the sauna and seeing the stormy sea. We just wish there'd been more amenities; there was no conditioner, 1 towel in the kitchen, and 2 small refrigerators instead of 1 large refrigerator; and the TV is small, but sufficient. The internet connection was strong. This could be a really good stay if you don't mind the items listed above. We are giving it a solid 4 and recommending you bring your own toiletries.
