We were excited to stay with a super host rated, downtown located stay for our trip. On arrival, the first thing we see is dirty towels scattered around the bathroom in front of us. We continued to reluctantly search the space, as we were not sure if someone was still in the space, which as young woman was quite unnerving. From there we found garbage in all receptacles, almost all bedding and towels dirty, and hair and dirt on the floors. We couldn’t reach the host for 40 mins, (which the area code was wrong in vrbo app, luckily I figured out there was a few extra numbers and finally got the right number) which at that time we had already started vacuuming and cleaning ourselves. Our host, which I do sympathize for, didn’t provide much assistance. Cleaners used by host were not available to come until following day, which would not be helpful and would displace us on one of the busiest weekends of the year. As If this wasn’t bad enough the floors were buckled and very uneven. You’re located right under the sky train, and is super loud and very bright at night. With car lights waking you up as it illuminates the bedroom and living room. The host said she would refund the cleaning fee, and asked if this was fair. Which I replied no. A cleaning fee is for after we leave as to clean our mess not someone else’s. The Host really dropped the ball and after trying to contact to resolve privately, which she requested, has avoided any further communication.
