”Property clean and convenient to Seaham. Two short flights of stairs to rooms with 3 sets of doors to go through. No lift and no help to get luggage to room. Registration at bar and staff was busy with patrons so check in and out took time. Parking on site. Security good. ”

”A friendly check in. Everything the hotel offers seems to have been given thought. Standards generally high and everything most people would need was available. ”

”Beautiful old castle the room was exceptional and the walk around the grounds was amazing. Breakfast was great would recommend to stay for a slice of history ”

”We turned up to check in at around 2.30pm (3.00pm check in) and there was nobody there (reception apparently supposed to have manned from 9am-9pm). There was a side door open but when we went inside, walked through the whole ground floor and upstairs, still nobody around. Waited for over a hour, called two emergency numbers, found at the front door, multiple times…no answer. Expedia couldn’t get hold of anyone either so offered us credit to book into another hotel nearby which was appreciated....

”The room we were staying, the decor was tired - not worthy of a 4 star hotel unfortunately. Upon arrival, wardrobe door was hanging off hinges, the wifi receiver box was hanging of the wall - room was also very dark. Pointed out wardrobe door to concierge and they had it fixed the next day, but should have been done before guest arrival - tables in hallway tired and peeling off. The staff was friendly though, especially in the breakfast room. Breakfast had a good choice.”

”Check in and breakfast were good. The area is close to great pubs and restaurants and the metro. Unfortunately in the year since we last stayed here, the hotel looks a little rough inside. Carpet looks beat up. There are dings and scuffs all over the walls inside hotel rooms. We had a great time otherwise. ”

”Clean & comforts, but there’s no table which even can’t have a simple breakfast. Have 2 sofa which are no use for us. It’s better to have a table & storage drawer.”
