”Find someplace else is my advice. Great location to the Chester Cathedral & that’s the best I can say. Reception couldn’t bother welcoming me, except to hand me my room key. I’m 72 years ago & I had to carry a bag up three flights of stairs with no offer of assistance. The carpet on the stairs & in the hallways is dirty, stained, frayed in places. Room was good size but no outlets to plug in a phone - had to unplug a lamp. No outlets in bathroom to plug in a hair dryer or curler so once again...

”The room was spacious, large beds, ensuites and a lovely big living space. The lighting was a bit dim, more lamps would be good. Small things didnt work well, ie, no bedside lights, front door wouldnt lock (except for the yale), a bulb was out, we scouldnt get the phone to reception to work and wifi didnt work either. Some of the blinds need fixing too. However, lovely linen, comfy beds, great location and quiet. ”

”Breakfast was terrible value. it was offered as a continental breakfast but what actually came were offerings that did not include and cheese or ham or even a boiled egg. My husband discussed it the manager. There is a new menu on its way.Staff were all very friendly.There just seemed to be fewer around than on previous stays over the years.in general the hotel is in a great location. Short walk into centre of Chester, great parking under the hotel for £20 per night. Just think the rooms are...

”Room was great for four of us after a day at the zoo and before a city visit the next day. Good walkable location. A small issue getting access but sorted by the host on the phone. Beware: there is NO parking at the property- I booked as it was a highlighted feature but there is no parking here. We were given advice by the host to park across the road in the Delamere car park which was fine (£9.50- arrived 8pm left next day at 2pm) but just an error on Expedia. Found the room quiet and warm....

”What a lovely clean spacious apartment. Great location. So close to shops, restaurants and attractions, etc.Having a tesco express opposite of needed. Easy check in. And nice and quiet apartment block.”

”A very nice room which could probably do with an update. Very comfortable bed. Quite noisy in the evenings with comings and goings from the pub next door, but not too bad. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.”

”The property was of a basic nature and very tired in places. The bathroom paint was peeling off the walls. The bed was a small queen bed that wasn't big enough for 2 adults to get a good night sleep. The mattress was very thin and uncomfortable. Due to this we left the property early and had to book a hotel. I also tried to contact the property as advised by Sykes cottages, but my calls were unanswered and not returned. Overall a disappointing stay. There are plenty of better rentals available.”

”Great location for Chester Town. Double bed was comfortable. Shower 🚿 was really nice too. Parking was fine for my stay. Chester is a lovely city with lots of old buildings. I walked along the River Dee & the canal and parks.”
