The bar/restaurant through which one enters the rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and welcoming in every way. When we arrived, the first thing the receptionist said (and repeated several times) was that there is a disco on Friday and Saturday nights which is clearly stated in their webpage. Had we not missed this completely, we would not have stayed here. It was really very very loud until 3 am on both Friday and Saturday. Only to be continued with a live band on Sunday night.
The room itself was alright, quite average, a bit run-down but basically clean. The bed could have been more comfortable. The main problem was the shower where the water was either freezing cold or burning hot, nothing inbetween. Also, the toilet flushed rather lazily. I would say the room was not really worth for what we paid on a busy RIAT weekend.
The Old Town of Swindon where the hotel is located is quite lovely with many restaurants to choose from. We didn't eat at 20 at the Kings as the tables had apparently been reserved for each of the 3 nights we stayed there. The breakfast was definitely the best I've had anywhere. All in all, I recommend not to stay here during the weekend, other days it would pass if nothing else was available.
