”We stayed in the basement room (1 queen and bunkbed) which was perfect for our family of 4 with a dog. The room opens up to a big outdoor area, so it's extremely easy to to take the dog out. There was a small fridge and microwave so we had everything we needed for a night's stay. The only thing to know is that you have to go down two flights of stairs to access the room which may be an issue for some. Would definitely stay here again!”
”Was expecting a quiet, boring night but the old fashioned hotel bar was lively with interesting people so I enjoyed the fun! It’s not a vibe for young children maybe but perfect t for me as a solo traveler to meet friends. I’ll definitely stay again someday!”
”This is a hidden gem. Yes, it was outdated BUT given that I started coming to Tahoe in the early 80s, I actually really appreciated the older vibe. When I arrived the keys (actual keys) were waiting for me on the office and I was able to let myself in. I loved that. The room was tidy and clean. This place is DIRECTLY across from one of the last open access beaches on the north side of the lake AND it was right next door to several great dining options. I also loved that the 7/11 was next door so...
”I need to travel to grass Valley for two months for my nursing program. I found this hotel and decided to book it based on the price and was not expecting much because of the price. I was pleasantly surprised! The unit is very big. When you first walk in, you have a bathroom area to the left and then a fridge and microwave on the right and then you walk down a few stairs into the actual room which is a very large space. It doesn’t come with a lot of extras, but it was definitely worth the price...
”Enjoyed my weekend trip to Tahoe City. The location was great, after a full day out at the lake. Check in was quick, friendly. Once settled in my room walked the strip that has many options for dinner an shopping. Room was comfortable an at night it was very quiet. Check out was very simple with phenomenal service. I will definitely be coming back.”
”I appreciated that the Hotel Staff sent me a message letting me know that I left my Camelbak Backpack in the room. Then they shipped it to my home for me. Very professional and trustworthy staff. I would definitely stay again if I am ever back in the area.”
”Interesting and unique place ! The bed was super comfortable, slept great. Rooms very small and no extra frills, it worked for the main purpose, sleep, shower. Perfect place for travelers to meet and mingle. Mostly spent our time in Truckees many restaurants/bars or Northstar skiing. I would recommend if looking for a lil more affordable place ! Personally a lil pricy for a hostel, but its Truckee, tourist town and close to skii resorts, thats just the way it is !”
”Very nice place. If you like the antique look, you'll love this place. I liked that the living room could be converted into another bedroom, since the bathroom is in the middle of the bedroom and the living room.”
”Stayed there between summer and ski season. Excellent value. Not particularly crowded. Easy drive to lakeside on the quieter north side. Staff helpful and friendly. At the foot of the ski runs literally at the base of the mountains. And on the edge of a great golf course.
