”I go every year to Solihull and I have tried Voco several times. Every time there is something wrong or it is the smell of curry in the corridors or it is the check in or out. This time, the checkout time was at 11 and we came back from breakfast 10:50, to collect our bags and check out but our key didn’t opened the door. ”Really nice hotel with friendly staff and stunning decor. Great breakfast and a fun games room. Avoid Robert Peel Room as it’s above the bar and can be noisy at night.”

”Staff very welcoming and family room was very clean. Only issue is that a family room likely to have children had no blind or curtains in the bathroom and you entered the shower alongside this window. This window overlooks the High Street which I would suggest is not suitable. Also- who still has a flimsy plastic toilet seat? Wooden one required. Food was fantastic in the bar. Would stay again.”

”Dirt in the room and under the bed. Staff generally good. Booking came with a room upgrade due to status. Room upgrade didn’t occur despite the hotel being empty and having availability on their website. Emailed the hotel through Expedia app (replying to the message they sent me) asking questions. That was ignored and not responded to. Dinner food quality was poor considering my the level they quote themselves to be at and prices charged. Ice cream for dessert clearly suffering from freezer burn...

”I requested breakfast but was told they didn’t do it anymore. The stairs were cramped with 2 turns and inadequate/absent rails. We did not meet any staff. There was a note saying how we could ring them. The hot and cold water at the wash basin were plumbed in the wrong way round. I did not see any indicator for which was hot or cold. It matters because this is where you fill the kettle. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm.”

”The only negative thing was the air conditioner which only expelled warm or hot air. Otherwise no complaints. We pretty much got what we expected. The walk to the Resorts World Arena was less than 10 minutes. Awesome.”
