”What I like: Both room and bathroom is very large and spacious. Great location, literally a 3 minute walk to the beach that can be seen from the balcony, A nice balcony to sit outside at night, enjoy a drink and watch the world go by. Within walking distance to train station, Hove and Brighton beach, grocery stores, hotels and cafes. Nice helpful staff.
What I didn’t like: Hallway smelled of cigarette smoke and so did the pillows.”

”Very run down with no signs of trying to fix anything.
Friendly enough staff, but clueless.
I had to move rooms after the first night. The radiator in room 218 couldn't be turned off and it was 25 degrees. The ceiling in the bathroom has water damage from above and the plaster was cracked and falling down.
The second room I was given, room 317, had more problems. The window had broken seals, so let in a lot of wind and noise from the street. I found 2 empty Absolut vodka bottles wedged...

”Breakfast was the best thing about this place! It's a little dated and tired and could be very nice but lots of things were off - door handles loose, loo roll holder hanging off, no sockets by the bed (essential in this day and age no?)

”Booked a suite. Arrived early, asked if any chance to get a room earlier because of travelling a lack of sleep. Told, the would call us if possible. No call.. sat at reseption… at 2pm asked again, reply was ”no it is 4pm”. Sat there and watched many guests check in at 2.30. We spoke to the manager and she was no help, just adamant, It turns out, you pay for a suite and you are left till last, so book a normal room, pay less and enjoy your room more.
Cleaning: Room was not cleaned properly. Hair...

We upgraded to the deluxe room which was very spacious and clean.
The bistro was delicious and Mohammed was attentive throughout the service. The bar staff were always polite.
