”Difficult to get to due to being gated and having to request entry via the intercom. Room was reasonably clean and quite basic. Headboard was hard, but the bed was comfortable. Surprisingly they still use old fashioned keys for door entry. Reception was closed at 0930 when we checked out and dropped off the key in a box attached to the wall.”

”Located in centre of town there was a lot of noise from people going to and from pubs/clubs, also a lot of boy racers in there cars driving around and around constantly past our room window, we did stay on a Saturday night so probably busier than other nights, but had to have window open due to being hot and no air conditioning, and even with window closed still quite noisy. ”An excellent stopover on a long journey north! It indeed has the air of a conference centre, and obviously was very quiet as there was no conference on, and that suited us. Our single bedrooms were small, but adequately equipped with a comfortable chair, and tea-making facilities, and nice en-suite. The rooms were very quiet, and had very comfortable beds. ”The room was clean but the bed was hard and you needed binoculars to see the TV. We stayed in Kent hall and it seemed like an old office block that has been turned into bedrooms. Breakfast wasn't that great sausages and bacon were overcooked and dry. The parking was not that great either.”

”Room was dirty and smelly. Loud noise till 1am on Saturday night.When we were checking out, we were told to exit via backdoor, because staff said it was too early to open the front door. We felt humiliated.”

But the outstanding feature was the staff not just helpful but friendly and as someone travelling, on this occasion, on my own they were invaluable. Yes, the property did look a little bit rundown and like it could’ve done with a lick of paint in places but that did nothing to detract from my stay. For r a budget friendly break in a long journey I could not ask for anything else.”

”Impressive in arrival this countryside hotel and conference centre at first glance appeals. There is also ample parking. Many hotels allow early check in if one arrives ahead of check in time. Moat House staff were less accommodating and seemed to have a hard and fast rule. However, when we sat in the lobby with our suitcases and backpacks half an hour ahead of check in time, they quickly and pleasantly attended to us. ”The service in the breakfast was great and helpful but products were ran out all the time. Staff was young overall and seemed unefficient. Room was beautiful and surrounding nice countryside, peaceful and pretty.”
