”It’s a lovely hotel and very convenient stop. The staff were super friendly and helpful.
We only had breakfast but it was delicious and plenty of it. The decor was lovely but needed a bit of tidying and the vase on the table needed a clean. I’m not keen on fake flowers which gather dust and the winter sun shows the glass vase needing a polish.
I’m being picky hoping I’m being helpful. It was a fab stay and I thoroughly recommend it and would stay again. ”
”I stayed here for the Great North Run in September. The staff are dedicated, to the point of opening breakfast from 5am on the day of the Run for runners! Exemplary and very easy to walk to the centre of Durham.”
”Beautiful hotel, not sure how it’s classed as a 3* on Expedia when it’s by far the nicest hotel in Newcastle. The rooms are a great size, clean and cosy and you can tell the hotel has thought of the “little things” that set it apart from a generic Hilton esque experience. ”Stayed in the standard double room. Lovely decor, plenty of space with big patio doors overlooking the grounds. Loved the food in the restaurant (Charchoa), great quality and excellent service. Enjoyed the hour at the swimming pool and sauna. Also dog friendly in the room which was great. Wi-fi connection was also very good and room came with a big flatscreen TV. The bath in the room was also lovely. Also had a drink in the Clubhouse and the prices were reasonable. Would love to come again and...

”This is an excellent, value for money budget hotel. Most facilities are at par with what you would expect from a budget hotel but most outstanding feature is its very helpful staff. Adam is a star. He went above and beyond with anything we needed help with. All other staff we interacted with - Sumit, Helen, Caroline - were all very kind and helpful. Kudos to the management for hiring such awesome people.
The next door pub waggon team is also an asset, good food at reasonable prices.

"It's not new place and overall it looks quite fine. However via hotels.com we had a marking in our room that it includes AC. It definitely didn't. It was extremely hot. There's some towel heater in the toilet that can't be turned off at all. Toilet is constant +30-35C during summer days. In the room you can only open your window by few inches.
They had a small table fan in the closet which was the most disgusting thing I've seen for a while. It was covered in thick dust and dirt and it took like half an hour to clean it. At first it shot huge cloud of dust all over the room.
TV also needed power from the outlet so you needed to press the button first. When you look behind the TV you can see probably years of thick moisturized dust formed everywhere so it looked more like a fire hazard than only just disgusting.
There was breakfast and it was ok but without anything fresh to go on bread. But bacon, beans, eggs and sausages were available.
Beds were comfortable and shower had nice shower gels and shampoos. There was also very good parking area outside. Check-in&out also worked very fast and that was nice. There's also good looking gym."
