”The room was in a great location and accessed by keypad so no key needed. Pre-check-in was done online that everything was easy. The room as well located on the High Street and close to places we wanted to visit. The room was very clean, spacious and decorated beautifully. The bed was comfortable with lovely white crisp in. ”We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chestnut Tree. Lisa, the host was the main reason, she is a great communicator which is important when booking. She was so very helpful with local information and incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful and the amenities in the bathroom delightful. The area is beautiful but with only one night, we didn’t get the change to do much exploring. Next time. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay.”

”Customer service was a real issue at this hotel. There was no-one on Reception on my arrival, just a sign to say they were in the dining area. I went to the dining area and asked someone there if I could have help with my bags. There is no lift and there were 3 flights of stairs to my room. No-one came. Eventually, someone working in the empty bar area offered to help put my bags somewhere safe while I found somewhere to park. He was unable to advise me where the best car park was. When...

”What an absolute gem of a property! I come to Hove for business and have always stayed quite some distance away (Hayward Heath) due to the lack of secure parking at most properties in the area. So to find this fabulous property so close to my customer’s site was fantastic. Off street parking on the drive of the property means no hunting for a parking space. Linda was quick to contact me as soon as the booking went through, requesting my preferences for milk and bread - so thoughtful. The lodge...

”The bed was clean but extremely uncomfortable, the bathroom was not very clean the curtains had mould. The location is good, it’s very close to the beach, and good restaurants.”

”The hotel could benefit from some modernisation, as parts of it are looking a little dated. My main concern was the location of Room 227. It was a very long walk from reception and quite difficult to reach. Fortunately, I wasn’t travelling with a suitcase; otherwise, getting to the room would have been much more difficult. Better signage or assistance with luggage would have been appreciated.”

”I loved it! The room was gorgeous, spacious and just right for my sister and I on my birthday eve. Breakfast was great and I am pleased. I didn’t realise it was above a pub but that wasn’t a problem. Free parking and 10mins drive to city centre. The AC in the room wasn’t functional but there was a back up fan that helped somewhat.”

”Overall we were happy with the accommodation but concerned when the alarm went off while no staff were on site it was disturbing to get an automated response when dialing the out of hours contact number offering to put me thru to reservations or the restaurant. Was on a call to emergency services when someone appeared to say an alarm had been tripped in the cellar and issue resolved . I mentioned the out of hours contact number didn’t get me to a human response was told it connects to them...

”Too many notes telling you not to scratch things. It was nothing like as described on website. Spoon holding the window fastener, other windows held together with duck tape. . Felt damp in there so needed heat. Bedding wasn’t Egyptian cotton, bottom sheet was pea green. Tap just dribbled water out of wash basin. Lane and track down to property was terrible, full of holes. We didn’t stay for breakfast or to sleep there.”
