An elderly couple who couldn’t speak English sat in the front lobby, often. I’m not sure if they worked there cleaning rooms or were a guest but if the worked there they made no attempt to communicate or help out, which was an issue because the front door to the building on a busy street was always left open”

”The room was cozy and comfortable. The staff was very nice and friendly and there was a nice selection of snacks and breakfast items in our room. Dinner in the restaurant was very good and the bar was good too. Our only complaint was that there was no WIFI for our entire stay which made it difficult for planning some activities due to the fact everything is booked online these days. ”

”Very nice stay in Sue's B'n'B. We were allowed to place our luggage prior to check-in and get back later. Sue's hospitality is of very high standard. Everything is in order, clean and nicely maintained. Nice breakfast, we were treated like kings and queens. When Sue found out that we had to leave early for the airport after the last night, instead of the breakfast she prepared three bags of 'survival kit' with fruit and biscuits to bring with us. ”I like the location. The bus is just next to the house. The responsable gave us some information about the famous attractions in Edinburgh. He has a dog called Tom. He's very friendly. It was the first time i wasn't scared of a dog. I noticed just that the room isn't warm enough. But in general i liked the experience”

Clean and quiet, away from the bustle. of the city but close enough to easily access Edinburgh as well as walking distance to the village of East Calder with restaurants and pubs. Breakfast was lovely and offered a nice variety. Try the Haggis, it's delicious. ”

”We had an amazing stay from start to finish. Ian gave us a tour if the castle along with a history. The rooms were cozy, the bed was very comfortable. The owners even gave us a ride to the tram when we were unable to find a taxi. Sue and Ian are a friendly helpful couple. ”

”We went to Edinburgh for the fringe. The B&B was excellent. Good breakfast and well looked after. Like being part of the family. Close enough to the centre to make it walkable if you are young enough. ”

”Location is very good, easy to go to everywhere. Room was nice and quiet, but sofa bed was uncomfortable to sleep (there was 3 of us, so one slept on the sofa). Breakfast is not good, very limited options and example tomatoes and cucumbers were missing all mornings. But all of all, I could go here again. ”
