”Lovely quirky room in a lovely pub in a quiet location food was lovely clean room I did think the check in service could be a little more professional has we were given wrong keys to our room. The only downside was the WiFi in the room it didn’t work and you don’t get a phone signal, taxis are must if you plan to explore walking isn’t an option due to location. ”

”Nice spacious and very clean room. Well facilitated with a tea tray and bottles of water. Room was immensely hot but thankfully able to open all the windows. Liked fresh cooked breakfast (as opposed to usual buffets) however I would love to see a better drinkable coffee being served and a little gripe - after requesting hard poached egg with no ‘snot’ my egg was totally snotty when I cut it and ran into my breakfast so didn’t eat much. ”Check in was quick and easy. Staff were helpful and polite, even moved me from a room in the inn to an annexe room so I could be away from noise from bar. Also had a very good breakfast which is extra but excellent value for money. Definitely recommend it hotel and breakfast.”

”Lovely location near Hexham with stately home vibes and comfortable bedrooms. The bar overlooks the golf course and has lots of nooks and crannies to settle in with a glass of whatever to people watch. The restaurant has a very good menu and the staff are attentive and make sure all is OK with your meal. Breakfast is self serve with full platters of tasty food. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.”

”The thermostat to the radiators didn’t work so we couldn’t turn the temperature down and were therefore uncomfortably hot and got limited sleep. The mattress added to the lack of sleep as it was very uncomfortable. The door to our room you could close from the inside with a hard shove but you couldn’t close from the outside so we couldn’t leave anything valuable in the room.
