”Loved our stay at here, staff were very welcoming and helpful and patient with our young Vizsla dog. Ideal set up for staying with a dog, with rooms located opposite site of the car park to the cosy pub. Food was excellent. Definitely would come and stay here again. ”

”We loved our stay at the Ancient Gatehouse. The room was lovely and looked out over the green in front of the Wells Cathedral. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the hotel has an excellent Italian restaurant, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner before walking around the lovely town of Wells. Americans should know it is not air conditioned, but air conditioning is rare in the UK and Europe. There is a fan and lovely large windows. We will definitely return.”

”It was perfect for a night or 2. I tried contacting the owner before hand to ask booking in time and how to get in but no reply so we were hanging around hoping. More communication would be great, however the rooms were small and had everything we needed. Spotlessly clean, pure white towels, clean bedding and plenty of sockets. Lovely outside seating area. ”Very nice large property, excellent bedrooms. Great view from garden overlooking the river. Everything is in the property you need except an ice cube maker, and garden needs a little tidy .”
