”I stayed for a night in early August. Had an evening meal for which there was no ‘service’ charge added. I stayed again at the end of August & had an evening meal only this time there was a ‘service’ charge of 10% added. I challenged this only to be told “it is on the menu”. It was not ‘on the menu’. The charge was returned but why was it there to start with & nothing to alert you to what I was later told was a discretionary payment! The receptionist on each visit was fantastic. Apex Waterloo Place Hotel

8/10 Hyvä

"Not having any ventilation in the rooms is just something difficult to understand in western civilization... luckily the sauna warmed up."

YOTEL Edinburgh, Select by Hilton

8/10 Hyvä

"I’ve got dual feelings of the hotel. The room was good: clean, spacious, and the bed was excellent. However, it wasn’t possible to adjust the room temperature: it reset to 20 degrees right away. Breakfast was decent but its organization was chaotic: it was split into two zones, and something was always missing from one of the buffets which forced people to shuttle between the two zones. One of the zones was also unbearably loud."

10/10 Loistava

"I finally stayed in the Court Room, and it was worth the wait. Interestingly, the 28-pod mixed dorm was even quieter than an earlier stay I had in a smaller female-only room. A very positive surprise! It was great to see how seriously my previous feedback was taken. I deeply appreciated the handwritten apology note from before, as well as the lovely welcome gift (a card and some fudge) left in my pod this time. What truly completes the experience, however, is the professional staff; those who offer genuine kindness, polite "extra words," and a welcoming approach are what make this stay feel so high-quality. It is wonderful to see such excellence and care from these team members. A small note for maintenance: I usually find the 1st-floor ladies' bathrooms spotless, but this time there was an unusual amount of water on the floors inside the toilet cubicles (not the shower area), and even in the basket for sanitary products. Also, the background music was missing on that floor—it’s such a nice mood-lifter usually! The other floors were perfect, though. Despite these minor points, this remains my absolute favorite place to stay. I will definitely be back and will continue to recommend it!"
