    Wet Room: Shower, Toilet. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner included. Welcome pack. Garden. On road parking. No smoking. Please note: There is a step in the garden.. These two lovingly restored terraced cottages can be found in the tranquil and historic village of Churchtown on the northern fringe of Southport. Set over one level, they’re immaculately presented and suitable for couples, friends and small families alike with or without their four legged friends. Offering guests a fantastic destination that has everything you could need within easy reach, they each boast a bathroom with walk-in shower, living room with wood burner and a well-equipped kitchen that is ideal for cooking up a storm! Externally, you’ll find an enclosed courtyard garden with sitting-out area, perfect for sitting back, relaxing and simply enjoying your break.

    The location is around a 30-minute walk from Southport beach, and is close to the village’s specialist shops and charming cafes and pubs. For further amenities in Southport town centre you’ll find the renowned Lord Street - a wide Victorian street with a fantastic variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. There really is something for everyone; golf at the prestigious Royal Birkdale, bird watching along the coast, and the very rare red squirrels at Formby. Southport itself boasts a theatre, lovely parks and Splash World, as well as playing host to a wide selection of events ranging from the National Fireworks Display, and an air show together with jazz, food and drink festivals. Liverpool can be reached in approximately an hour by car and Chester, Manchester and Preston are all within driving distance also. The Lake District and Lancashire’s beautiful Ribble Valley can be reached in around an hour.

We had a fantastic short stay at Sunnyside Cottage.

We had a fantastic short stay at Sunnyside Cottage. It was clean, comfortable, in a great location and has everything you need. We brought our little dog and it was perfect for him, there is an enclosed yard and the cottage is very dog-friendly, there was no doggy smell and the housekeeper does a great job as you would never know dogs have been there!This is now our go-to place when we come up to visit family.

Perfect cottage.

Our stay was wonderful in this delightful little cottage in Churchtown, Southport. It is close to all the amenities of the village, cozy and very clean. John was most helpful and pleasant and provided us with lots of information about the cottage and the area. We would highly recommend a stay here.

A gem of a cottage

Had a fantastic stay. The cottage is compact but had absolutely everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was so clean and very cosy.. Perfect location for exploring the area and also close to local pubs and shops. Very dog friendly so we could take ours comfortably. Would love to return in time

. The cottage was excellent. Spotlessly clean,nice welcome pack and a complete guide to all facilities. The cottage is within walking distance of the lovely village of Churchtown. We are already looking forward to our next visit and it's a credit to the owners.

Lovely cottage just perfect for my husband and I and our Welsh Terrier, Ifor.

Lovely cottage just perfect for my husband and I and our Welsh Terrier, Ifor. Very clean with everything you need for a week away. My only suggestion would be to add a washing machine. It does have a dishwasher and is otherwise very well equipped. Good sized living area with sofa and tv. I’m in my 60’s and the sofa is quite low so I found it hard to get up, but very comfortable whilst sitting. The bedroom has a good sized bed with wardrobe and chest of drawers if a little tight on either side to get into. There is a very spacious and modern wet room conversion off the living room. I love that it is all on the one level. At the back of the kitchen, there is an outdoor seating area with table, chairs and a safe enclosed space for the dog to enjoy. This is our 2nd visit and we hope to go again after the proposed renovations to open up more of the lovely original beams which will make Sunnyside Cottage even more authentic. It is located on Bibby Road rather than Chase Heys which is around the corner. Strongly recommend. Great value for money and the lady who owns it is very pleasant and helpful. Her son is also on hand to fix any problems or supply anything necessary. Next door is a slightly larger property suitable for more than two plus a dog. A great find for us. A walk along Lord Street is a must with a visit to the Atkinson. We also enjoyed afternoon tea at the Westminster Tea Rooms. Lots of cafes, bars and restaurants and some very quirky antique shops alongside rails of brightly coloured scarves and Italian Ice Cream vendors. There is also another shopping precinct parallel to Lord Street. I found the locals friendly and the shopping excellent value for money. For meals out on a budget, Wetherspoons is hard to beat but the kitchen is so well equipped we did a lot of home cooking and bought our groceries in the local Co Op. Other places to visit by car would be Liverpool and Chester and, if you are feeling more adventurous, a day trip to Manchester is also possible. We attended Eucharist and Choral Evensong at Holy Trinity where we were invited to tea after and a visit to the Little Theatre with members of the choir. My husband is an organist and myself a classical singer so this was perfect for us. Parking on the road at the front of the property was no problem as it is located in a very quiet residential part of Southport.
