Useita kuukausia aikaisemmin varattu yläkerrosten huone ei ollutkaan tultaessa vapaana vaan ainoastaan alimman kerroksen huone. Aamiainen oli ok mutta monet tuotteet loppuivat heti eikä täydennyksiä kuulunut.

Really nice hotel with exceptionally good service
Really good and polite customer service! We received a lot of tips on what to do and how to get around in Marseille. The Hotel was modern and clean, located conveniently right next to the railway station. Would definately stay again!

Todella hyvä pieni hotelli
Erinomaista! Todella hyvä pieni hotelli. Ystavällinen ja avulias henkilökunta. Hyvä ja kohtuuhintainen aamianen. Sijainti Saint Charlesin aseman lähellä on kätevä erityisesti Marseilleen tultaessa tai sieltä lähdettäessä, lentokenttäbussi tulee sekin asemalle. Kaupungin ydinkeskustaan sujahtaa nopeasti metrolla eikä kävellenkään ole liian pitkä matka. Lähikorttelit ovat värikkäitä,mutta mitään rauhattomuutta ei tarvitse pelätä. Huoneemme oli pihan puolella, joten en osaa sanoa kuinka meluisa olisi kadun puoli. Hyvin vilkas väylä siinä menee.

Erittäin hyvä sijainti liikkumisen kannalta. Julkinen liikenne vieressä (juna/bussit/metro), n. 10 min Vieux Portiin. Siisti, rauhallinen hotelli. Pieni ja kodikas. Ystävällinen hekilökunta.

Modern hotel next to railway station
The hotel is very conveniently located next to Marseille railway and bus station (the airport bus comes right there) so no taxi is needed and I was able to see the hotel sign from outside the station. I was a bit concerned when I saw that the area was not so good (homeless people etc around) but nobody bothered me. And this you will get to see anyway if you arrive by train or bus. The old port and other attractions are within easy walking distance. When inside the hotel, everything was new and modern. All staff was friendly. Coffee available at the reception and a coffee and tee maker in the room. Free wify worked well. I asked for a quiet room and got one and slept very well. Breakfast was good value for money as was the hotel. I will stay there again if I go back to Marseille.

This is a beautiful hotel just steps from the train station with lovely courtyards and a nice breakfast. It felt like a hidden gem. I didn't want to stray too far from the hotel by myself after dark, but I enjoyed taking it easy in the hotel for the evening I spent there.

We absolutely loved the Alex Hotel Spa. We made the most of the spa facilities and enjoyed some down time from a very busy holiday. The hotel itself is stunning. Beautiful decor and the friendliest hotel staff who were super helpful and accommodating. Our rooms were so comfortable and clean and we can't wait to return! Thank you for a great stay!

5 Stars, highly recommend!!!
Hotel Alex is right outside the train station so the outside is deceiving of how nice the inside is. This was our favorite hotel on our trip through France. Victoria greeted us and was the kindest most helpful person we encountered on all our travels. She gave us great advice on the best way to see the city of Marseille and for future travel around France. Hotel Alex also had the most lovely breakfast that we all enjoyed. 5 Stars highly recommend!!

I had a short stay at Alex hotel & spa and I am definitely coming back. The hotel is in a great location, just beside the main station. The facilities were spotless clean and the front desk Jose was exceptional in making our stay a great experience. The breakfast is really worth the money

The property was nice and clean. The rooms were on the small side but the Bathrooms were huge. While the neighborhood might not be the best in Marseille it was convenient to the Train station and the Old Port. The staff was very friendly and helpful

Very disappointed with the size and cleanliness of the rooms. Excessive amounts of mould found in the showers and horrible on shower curtains. Considering mould remover spray is £2, this shouldn’t be the case. Cupboards in the room were also broken. On top of bad customer service when we expressed our issues. Front desk staff were reluctant to help, they pretty much told us to deal with it. You’re better off booking something closer to the harbour as there is more activities to do there. Price of the rooms for what you get is not worth it. Avoid.

Turned up the property and found mould in the bathroom. Customer service is not that great either. You can’t use the spa without paying for it. Read all the small print.

The neighborhood is sketchy, but once inside the hotel, it is safe, clean, calm and serene. Ask for room facing the courtyard. Coffee, and breakfast is good, but not the hot food. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful.

Welcoming friendly staff that made our stay enjoyable. Our junior suite was perfect! Quiet and facing courtyard. Love the balcony. Breakfast was delightful. Super close to metro station and Gare Saint Charle. A good base for exploring Marseille. We knew about how the area could "feel" unsafe after reading many online reviews, so we didn't even bother to leave the hotel in the evening, but we do know why some people might feel "unsafe" in the area. Train/Bus stations area tend to be a little sketchy in many big cities, so that is understandable.
