”we ate there the night before we left. We ordered dessert online. The server made us show her our receipt for the dessert before bringing it to our table. When she finally brought our dessert she was very sour and didn’t even apologize. Seemed very rude.”

”Victoria House and Jan the proprietor were absolutely wonderful. The property is lovely, the location is perfect for exploring the town, and Jan was full of excellent recommendations for food and excursions. We had the best time!”

”We were given an accessible room, no AC but the reception kindly provided us with fans and ice. The duvets were very thick for the time of the year. The pool closing time is way too early, maybe consider pushing it to 8pm.”

”Central to the university. We needed to move our son from one house to another which was within easy distance. Parking private and next to hotel. Everyone courteous .”

”Excellent stay! The parking was a huge plus and especially important as my husband was travelling by motorbike. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was good, and we also had a delicious evening meal from the bar. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. Thank you – we would happily stay again!”

”Lovely staff and excellent location. Rooms look as though they have been recently refurbished. Cold breakfast selection not as good as it used to be but good variety of cooked breakfasts on offer. I found the restaurant very cold in the evening but fine in the morning. Plenty of supplies in the room, tea, coffee, water, biscuits and toiletries etc.”

”It’s a beautiful building in very pretty grounds. It’s a bit faded and needs a revamp as it has amazing potential. The bathroom was clean but the shower curtain was grubby. It was brown at the bottom. The room was clean but needs more lighting and the curtains were hard to open and close. The old mirror was very mottled and hard to use. Breakfast was ok and staff were friendly. No hash browns available. When breakfast arrived they were just absent! ‘We don’t have any’. At check out - service...
