We had booked in the restaurant but not told that we had to be seated exactly at 8.30! They stopped serving at 8.45 and we got there at 8.45 having been sat in the bar and were told the restaurant was closed! Found a very nice Indian nearby. Booked breakfast for 9am only to find empty baskets and a cold cooked breakfast!

I loved the swimming pool as well as the hot tub. Lovely place. It was just hot in my bedroom, maybe perfect for the winter. Air conditioning would do for the warmer seasons.

This is a beautiful Manor House set in lovely grounds. It is a 10 minute drive into Norwich. We were in a top floor room (no lifts) and it was very quiet in the hotel. There was a wedding but the music quietened around 11pm and didn’t disturb sleep. The evening menu was good, but quality not quite as expected, and more vegan desert options would be good. That and a safe place for bikes to be stored would have made it 5 star

After a five hour drive was looking to a few moments to relax before going for something to eat, but my room was next to a young family who were obviously at the irritable stage and mum was trying to entertain them with ‘row row row your boat’ after several verses I contacted Amy on reception to see if I could move rooms. No issues with the request, new room offered, and one with a lounge area too. Very welcome. Comfy area and super comfy bed

Pleasant hotel, helpful staff if a bit thin on the ground in reception at times. Nice restaurant but poor quality food for an establishment of this type. My wife and I ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay and at the prices being charged the food should be significantly better. A meal out should be a treat, but when the food is not of a standard which could be prepared at home, that is a concern. Our room was spacious and comfortable, however on our second night, the hotel was a lot busier and party revellers were very noisy in the corridors and rooms both sides of our room, from around 2am to 4.30am.

Always very welcoming. Clean bedroom and bathroom. Very quiet. Nice bar area. Varied breakfast. Use of the golf club house for coffee once breakfast was finished.

Lovely overnight stay at an old Manor House. Leisure facilities were too notch. The room and all areas were spotless. Staff on reception and in the restaurant and bar areas were very friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend and would not hesitate to stay again

We chose to upgrade our room to a suite which was a great decision as the room was amazing! Spa treatment was also great although the treatment rooms are through the walkway for everyone to come through to the pool changing rooms so you can hear people talking outside. We had to ask for toilet roll and floors to be mopped inside the pool changing rooms but this was done when asked. The restaurant for dinner was fully booked so we had to leave the site to go for dinner which was a lovely meal in the end but not ideal to have to leave to go for dinner. When staying at a hotel you’d expect the restaurant to have enough space for hotel guests or to at least offer room service so this was a shame! Overall we had a nice stay but a few downfalls/ room for improvement that we felt needed to be mentioned.

Adequate but clean.
The hotel in the whole was OK, it is a bit tired and dated and could do with a modernisation. The room we stayed in was adequate but very basic and once again could have been improved by a bit of TLC and a bit of a makeover. The leisure facilities were adequate, the pool was quite small but we had the use of the sauna and steam room. This was also very dated with 80s wooden panelling decor throughout. The hot tub was out of action during our stay. The bar was busy in the evening and stayed open until gone midnight, after having been out for a meal this was welcomed to have some drinks before bed. The breakfast in the morning was mediocre with a selection of traditional English fry up options or continental with cereal etc. would have been nice if there was a bit more of a fruit selection a a available, there was not much choice if you were trying to opt for a healthier fresher breakfast. Overall the hotel served its purpose for our weekend away but we would not recommend or will visit again, purely because it seems to serve its purpose obviously for the older generation who play golf, naturally not young couples.

We only stayed a night but found the hotel, had good facilities, was clean, had friendly staff, a nice big bedroom, comfortable bed, powerful shower, useful location for us.

Comfortable and pleasant stay.
Lovely hotel, excellent staff. Got upgraded to a suite and this review is based on what I would expect from that. Lovely comfy bed and spacious accommodation. Excellent quality bedding and towels. The coffee table looked like it had done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson which wouldn't usually matter, but as it is the first thing you see it does drag down the overall feel of the room. Sink in bathroom had hairline crack. Nice toiletries. For a room of this calibre I would have expected at least a bottle of water to be provided. Leisure facilities would have been nice but the spa bath was not working and the pool was half cordoned off for noisy swimming lessons for children leaving 2 lanes for actual swimming and 8 people trying to use it which really didn't work. That aspect disappointing. Dinner was reasonably priced and really very good. The bar area was very comfortable and pleasant. Breakfast was excellent (and a proper establishment that has marmite!). Can't comment on the clubhouse or golfing facilities as not my bag. Overall recommended.

Was very nice room, comfy and cozy. A shame about the spa bath being closed while we were there though. Also another thing was my partner got stuck in the lift and ended up having a panic attack, no matter how many times she pressed the call button no one came until I went down and got someone!!

Oh what a lovely stay
What a lovely place. The hotel looked fantastic as you drive down the tree lined drivewaywirh the splended golf course on either side. The staff were so friendly helpful and efficient. The room was large and in very good condition. Although the bed was just a bit to hard for us I'm sure some would find it comfortable. The pool was brilliant. The dog loved chasing the rabbits every morning. We will definitely stay again

A lovely hotel, worth the money.
Great room and good price. I had a suite room, which was roomy. Very clean, some furnishings could be either replaced or fixed as some were beginning to look a little tired. Dinner was lovely, great choice on the menu, not too much to choose from, but i dislike large menus. Breakfast service was buffet style, but everything was fresh.

Ok. Disapointed!! Pre arrival was great, made a speical request and they were great. Dinner including service was great..... The room was good, if not in need of a duster. The next mkring it went very very wrong! Breakfast, arrived as booked told table was ready then told oh, someone took it and had to wait another 15 mins and watch them forget about us while they seated others. Once we were finally in, there was no food,told there would be a wait for food. When food arrived there were no sausages but we were told we could leave our plates under the hot lights until they were ready (another 10mins), only whole fruit available and very little choice. Drank the apple juice and it had bits in it, got another and wodered why it did the same. Turns out the glasses were dirty. Add to that no cutlery, inattentive staff and i would say avoid breakfast. Hit the health club after, staff member eating at desk, full mouth while taking to us. Dirty chaging area........we stopped there and just left

We wanted to explore Norwich city and this was the perfect pad to commute to and from. Really warm, comfy and with great staff and facilities. Now we know how family friendly it is, we'll be back next time with the kids.
