Going Downhill – and Deep
This was the third time I stayed in this motel. First time was about 8-9 years ago when the place had just been refurbished. Back then, it offered reasonably good value for money. Nowadays it doesn’t.
The motel is really worn-out. Rooms need refurbishing and so do the public areas. Below, I have gathered a list of some of the things that need improvement:
- The rooms were worn-out (I stayed in two different rooms; changing rooms provided no improvement)
- The bathrooms were especially bad
- In the guest laundry only one washing machine was in order
- All of the ice machines were out of order
- The breakfast was horrible
- They charged USD5 for receiving a small package (a book) from Amazon. This encapsulates the attitude of the management towards their guests: “We do not care for you. We just take your money.” I did not dare to ask how much they charged for luggage storing – it must be hundreds of dollars per bag if a book is 5 bucks
- The pool area only had three lounge chairs which were very often in use
- Very little closet space in the room to store clothes and other things
- The biggest cabinet in the room did not have shelves nor a bar to hang clothes to – it was totally useless.
- On few occasions did not have hot water
There were a couple of staff members that were very helpful – and few that were downright rude.
All in all: I will not stay there again.
