”Fantastic hotel with wonderful gardens. Great location for visiting the local attractions. Staff were welcoming, friendly and polite. Food in both Monty's Bar and the Terrace Restaurant was outstanding. Highly recommended - looking forward to visiting again.”

”Definately good hotel, maybe not quite living up five star status. Our third hotel stay during the same week, so it is easy to compare with other being four stars. The staff are doing their best, but glitches in new room cards and reception procedures left a sour taste. The place at the shore is nice, alltough part of the view is blocked by harbour warehouses. It is a bit far from the city centre by walking. The bar at the top has a nice view, but is noisy. All in all good experience, but not...

”Lovely hotel , restaurant service was very slow , we waited nearly 30 minutes for our drinks . It also annoys me how they now try and automatically add service charge to the room charge , I politely challenged this and was told that this has been introduced as the staff all earn a minimum wage .Note to hotel owners, pay your staff a decent wage !”

”This hotel is old and unfortunately our room on the 3rd floor smelled of mould. Luckily the interior of the room was liveable but the hallway was horrible. You had to cover your nose to go in and out of the room. The breakfast was good but I would not stay again. There are better rooms around the same price in the area that I would stay at over this place. It’s very basic. The rooms are tiny and depressing. We had travelled a long way and were just happy to have a bed. ”
