”The Lodge itself was beautiful and comfortable ideal for a family or couple with a dog, 2 bathrooms, washing machine, and so spacious!... the views of Milbrook and Plymouth from Lodge 23 are astounding. A great place to relax. Although pet friendly, I think if you own just one, well behaved dog he or she should be allowed off-lead and monitored closely...but it's a no, I understand why, but my dog is a registered working dog and it was her holiday too. Maybe a dog area should be considered...

”The area, the room, the owner, the atmosphere- everything was just perfect! We slept super well and enjoyed a good breakfast while chatting with other visitors and the owner. There are great restaurants nearby and if you arrive or leave by ferry, the guest house is just 15 minute walk from the ferry terminal. We warmly recommend staying here! ”

”Room was very untidy. Found an old sock behind the curtains which looked like they had been there a while. Stains on the carpet and the chair at the end of the bed. The noise is awful on the main road outside of my room which kept me awake through the night. Parking fills up very quick as well if you arrive later.”

”The hotel was exactly as described in photos. Clean, classy and very good value for money. We couldn’t hear any guests within property. Shower was powerful and nice and bathroom was clean. Bed comfortable, duvet thick but airy which was the perfect combo. Outside space from the room was well presents and clean. No bad smell and easy check in. Only thing I would critique is we couldn’t open window wide enough for our personal choice and could do with curtains as well blinds as that morning sun...

”Most hotels now provide a coffee machine in the room. This hotel does not. No drinking glasses were provided except for small glasses in the bathroom, although a bottle of spring water was provided. The shower was difficult to operate and it was impossible to make the water hot enough. Paint was peeling off one of the walls. The view from the room was delightful.”

”The parking was good at the hotel and only £10 a night. The hotel is lovely, good breakfast, bar open till 02:00, rooms very comfortable. Would recommend staying here and close to the city centre.”

”Unfortunately the bathroom had hairs on the bath and a razor left on the tap which was a bit off putting. Ate in the restaurant which wasn’t great, steak tough and omlette tasted like it had been fried in old fat. ”
