”This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I’ve had. We specifically booked this hotel because we were told the room had air conditioning. It didn’t. Our room was on the top floor, and the heat coming through the ceiling made it unbearably hot. Sleeping was almost impossible. The lift was also out of service, meaning we had to climb several flights of stairs every time we left or returned to our room, which was especially frustrating in the extreme heat. ”It's not the first time I've stayed at Frimley Hall, and it certainly won't be the last. As always, I received a lovely warm welcome when checking in. Bozena was fantastic at breakfast, providing friendly and attentive service, and the barman was very accommodating by providing a fan during the current heatwave, which was greatly appreciated. ”Good bits: Free parking, spacious room (upgrade), nice grounds. Spa looked nice - but didn’t use due to jacuzzi out of order and a load of screaming kids running round. Not ideal during a relaxing swim or massage. Not so good bits: No air-con in standard rooms so had to upgrade at a fee. ”It could be a lovely hotel if the staff smiled and had a clue what was going on. There was a lovely and friendly lady on reception, and one of the waiter serving in the evening was friendly, as was one of the bar staff (Josh). Everyone else seemed a bit surprised to have guests, and the women working at the bar weee positively rude in their demeanour. It could definitely do with an injection of cash to update it.
