A rating of 5 stars is simply insufficient to describe the amazing experience my family and I had during our recent visit to the superb villa, Domus Flavia, which is on the outskirts of Rome in a small village known as Zagarola.
The literal translation of Domus Flavia is “the vast residential complex of the Roman Emperors”, and in every sense of the word we felt like Roman nobility! On our arrival at the airport we were greeted by our private transfer, which was arranged for us by the very helpful property coordinator, Maria Teresa. When we arrived at the villa, following the 30 minute transfer, we had the warmest of welcomes from both Maria and the resident housekeeper, Sani, and can truly say that nothing was too much trouble for either of them.
Our guided tour of the villa was totally breath-taking and exceeded our expectations at every level. The facilities, and indeed the marvellous pool and grounds, are just too amazing to describe in words alone. This villa, together with the hospitality that we received throughout our stay, simply classes it as a true gem!
The property is spotless throughout, and you can feel the care and attention which has gone into its preparation for renting out as a beautiful holiday home. Sani is such a friendly, charming and happy individual which only added to the wonderful experience we had from start to finish. We were very sad to leave, but will I'm sure make a further visit in the not too distant future.
I would have no hesitation in recommending anyone to taste the experience of it all.
With a short walk to the local train station, it is ideally located for those wishing to visit Rome and the outlying areas. Enjoy!!
