”Excellent stay at the Chequers Inn again for a week for the New Year. Beautiful room, good food, clean, lovely staff - shout out to Angela who went above & beyond for us! Lovely compassionate email sent to us following the very sad death of my Dad whilst we were away. Only downside - the bar closed at 10:30pm on New Years Eve! We will definitely return.”

”The mattress is way too soft. And in no world a bed smaller than queen size (160cm) should be allowed to be called a two-person bed. Otherwise the room was ok. The breakfast is nothing to look forward to. Also the dishes are not very clean ”

Although the noise of the sea from inside the room (door closed) can be relaxing, it can also give you trouble to sleep if you are noise sensitive - note when we have been there...

”We booked 2 sea view rooms for 3 nights. Only one room had a sea view and the bathroom in that room had black mould around the ceiling. The other room had a very old mattress and the bedding was old and thin. The pillows in that room were flat. We checked out after 1 night and will not be back. Whilst the staff were friendly, this hotel needs refurbishment, new mattresses, new duvets, pillows, blankets and linen. Mould is injurious to health and no hotel of the calibre that this hotel...

”We had a panorama sea view, which was excellent, but we had to share the balcony with the next door neigbours, which we found annoying and strange. The location was great on the top of the fill and only about 15 minutes walk from the center. The pool of neighbor hotel (which we were able to use fro free) was very nice (both indoor and outdoor), and the water even +31 celcius! ”Generally good to very good. En-suite bathroom (Rm16) could do with a refresh, especially toilet and shower. Continental breakfast - boiled eggs would make a big difference. Location, parking, bedroom layout and views all excellent as were the staff.”

”The overall look and feel of the hotel is very dated. We only paid £38 for the room which had stained carpet but overall was acceptable for the price. The location isn't good for bars or beach. You need to drive or get a taxi.”
