”While the beds were clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly this hotel is in need of some Serious updating! This had to have been another hotel rebranded as HIE or a terrible experiment at how to use leftover materials to construct a hotel interior! —Wallpaper peeling in hallways and in room, nothing matched. Uneven transitions between carpet and tile. Carpet was atrocious mismatch squares with odd textures, not comfortable at all. Whoever constructed the hotel had terrible workmanship....

”My kids and I left with bed bug bites, our room did not cool off..... the hotel reaked of marijuana. The first night the receptionist had a friend or someone there with her rolling joints on the lobby. The 2 this morning were outside smoking and on their cell phone complaining about another employee that worked at the hotel cursing left and right in front of my children. We will not be back”

”Great location for if you’re planning to explore the Union Station area, WWI memorial, and the Money Museum. Room with a king bed and a pull-out bed is $10 more than a room with two queens. Breakfast is very basic, like everywhere.”

”Very helpful communication with Natasha regarding our arrival time and progress during our road trip, and very welcoming when we arrived after a long day of driving. Outstanding spotless and clean room! Delicious breakfast served at 9 o'clock, and a very accommodating and nourishing "to-go" breakfasts prepared for us on the road as we had over 550 miles to drive the following day, Woodstock is a definite stay if we pass through in the future!”

”Very clean. Room and bathroom was very modern. No microwave in the room...down the hall. Onsite restaurant was nice. Parking was terrible. Staff was not helpful and not informed about the current parking situation. Now part of the problem was due to the Fifa World Cup that was in KC the prior week. The tents were still up and taking up most of the $10 hotel parking spaces. Was not clear which spaces were city or/hotel. Need to do better if they host other events,”

”I am shocked at how high of stars this hotel had when it is average at best. The hotel is a whole complex which was difficult to navigate and even find the hotel. It is on a beautiful property, but the beds feel like you’re laying on cheap plastic and the breakfast is disappointing. (No waffle maker, which is always what I’m looking for at hotel breakfast). Overall it was a fine overnight but certainly does not deserve the excellent rating listed. Okay at best”
