”Our family stayed five nights in two queen sixed beds rooms. Rooms were nice and clean. Housekeeping came everyday. Our rooms were next to the nearby highway and the traffic noises were quite loud. Breakfast was better than in other hotels we stayed: pancakes, boiled eggs, breakfast muffins, yoghurt, cerials, bagels, fruit... Only minus was hotel wifi which did not really worked anywhere. Everything went well: staff was friendly and they responded quickly when needed. Our bathroom faucet...

”The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. My only complaint is how hot the hallways were, it seemed as though no air was flowing in the hallways on the guest floors. The breakfast was $11.00 and was surprisingly decent for a hotel buffet style breakfast.”

”The staff is very nice and helpful. They let us stay around for work in the lobby after we checked out. The area does not seem to have a lot of dining options. The traffic to the airport is so congested but overall this property is very nice in this area if you wanted to visit university of Chicago”

”The room was dated (East tower), old brown carpet and wallpaper. Poor lighting. Cleaning worked well, but the cleaners started working really early. Noise from the elevators was very loud and our room wasn't even bext to the elevators. Directions for public transport and shopping from the reception were poor. Views from the room was great. ”

”Overall good value stay. Easy to commute to downtown, even by foot. A lot of nice places around to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. The hotel itself was bit worn out and no sound insulation whatsoever. Single glass window to street made sure one can hear conversations from the street. Still clean and bang for the buck.”

Absolutely brilliant

"My daughter and I went to Chicago to run the marathon. Booked The River hotel as it was one of the few hotels I could find with twin beds at a reasonable price located within walking distance to grant park. The room was compact but it was warm, clean, had a microwave oven, mini fridge and espresso machine. Location was absolutely brilliant. Magnificent mile just the other side of the river and plenty of shops, restaurants, bakeries right next to the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful, only really had interaction at checking. Highly recommend, I certainly would stay there next time."
