”The listing says free parking on site. In fact the property is down a pedestrian alley with no vehicle access - that said there is ample free off-road parking close by. Arrived late Friday evening, no bother getting a table in the pub downstairs for food- they don't take table reservations, so I wasn't at a disadvantage. Good wide choice on the menu and attentive service.
There was a nightwatchman for after hours- what a treasure! He showed me how to access once the pub was closed, helped me empty the bags from the car and carried them to our room all with a friendly, nothing was too much trouble approach. A real asset to the Old...

Not suitable for anyone with animal allergies
When we arrived at the hotel at 11:30pm we then found out that the room was a room used for owners with pets
We were not offered a room pet free.
As it was so late and been driving for over 6hrs we looked at the room - but the room had a really strong cleaning product smell - probably trying to mask the animal smells, and looking closely on the floor you could see animal hair.
So we left the room as it was not suitable for...

”I loved the decor - quite traditional and full of character which I prefer to a more corporate style Some people might find it a little shabby, but very comfortable nonetheless, although a few minor maintenance issues like squeaky doors and wardrobe doors and missing curtain hooks, for example, could be easily resolved.
Breakfast was really good and all the staff were unfailingly helpful and pleasant.
