”One of my favorite hotels in Boone. The bed is comfortable. That is the most important thing for me - other than price. Boone overall is highly overpriced. You can stay in downtown Manhattan for less than a room cost in Boone. I was surprised that the hotel does not provide a free continental breakfast. A packaged danish like you buy in Costco or BJs, and a bottle of water costs seven dollars. But overall, the hotel is located convenient to the university and a few blocks from the best...

”It was a very pleasant stay and with parking just outside your room and all on the first floor -- it marries convenience with a Luxe version hotel like you were staying in a fancy Big Sur resort: the rooms have fire places, and balconies which look out onto a forested area behind the hotel. ”The Meadowbrook feels like it’s isolated but surprisingly it’s only steps from downtown! If you drive the other way you are on a central road to the rest of the area. The rooms are large, fresh and lovingly renovated (bathrooms not so much but perfectly adequate). The complimentary breakfast was homemade and delicious with an excellent variety of choices - really surpassed expectations. ”We stayed in a double queen room at Boxwood Lodge. Upon arrival staff was friendly and helpful. First room TV wasn’t working properly, changed room for us. Room was spacious and looked like it was somewhat updated, beds were comfortable and the linens were clean. Bathroom is in need of some updating. Worked fine but needs a facelift. Grounds are satisfactory. Only problem was we were on the first floor of the two story queen building. People in room above were very noisy until 1am....
