”For a three bedroom (sleeps six) cottage this is great value. It's generally in satisfactory condition. OK, the garden and cottage could do with sprucing up a bit but it's a good place to stay. There is plenty of car parking space around the back, and a large village (Kelsall) two miles away”

”Large, comfortable room with a modern en-suite. Very amenable and accommodating hosts with nice ideas such as putting on complimentary food in the bar during England World Cup games. We had a “simple” pie & chips from the menu and it was terrific with, as promised, real gravy. We didn’t have full English breakfast but the toast on the Continental option from a local artisan baker was fab. Lots of little touches that make the Royal Oak a little different from the ordinary.”

”The staff at the hotel was so so lovely and very helpful. We were racing at Oulton Park and it was a hot weekend and they always filled my water bottle with lots of ice so I could stay cool. The restaurant had good food. For a very simple hotel I was very impressed with the staff and also how clean the room was. It's definitely not a super fancy hotel but for a quick drive to the track it's great.”

”The best value for money I have ever come across. Large room with kitchenette ( fridge, microwave, two ring cooker, kettle, sink) En-suite bathroom with bath, power shower and W>C, towels supplied in room. Continental breakfast included in price. All this for just £31 per nightt highly recommended.”

”A little disappointed with my stay overall. The reception staff were lovely, welcoming, and friendly, which made for a great first impression. Unfortunately, my experience with room service wasn't as positive. The first person I spoke to seemed a little disorganised, and after waiting over an hour for the food I had ordered, I called back only to be told it had been delivered to the wrong room. As there was no answer at that room, no one thought to call me to let me know, which felt a little...

”Room was tired and need refresh, cracked decor. Beds were clean. Light pollution from garden into room, lack of decent curtains. No breakfast during weekdays, did not bother with weekend. Noisy environment from pub and landlord’s flat next to room. Would not recommend.”
