The property is Motel 6 level. TV reception was spotty. Being inside Grand Canyon was cool but the company that operates all the hotels knows they have a captive audience. Restaurant choices are minimal. The food and drink are minimalistic and pricey. Next time I’ll stay outside the park.

Hotel room was excellent, clean, quiet and comfortable. Walkable to other hotels but other hotels had front desk, bar/lounge, and restaurany. This one did not but you could walk to others. Would be nice if there was a front desk or small bar to gather. Perhaps that is why it was so quiet which is great.

The room we were in had an outstanding view of the Grand Canyon. You need to book it as a canyon view room to get this. Very convenient to the rim trail and other lodges and dining in the village. The room had very comfortable beds and was set up nicely. The only big negative we had about this property was no desk at the facility, you check in at the El Tovar lodge next door which wasn’t a big problem but the key cards were not working well and we had to go back to El Tovar to keep getting them reprogrammed. At the end of the long days it was very inconvenient.

We had a nice stay. In the off season price for the room is almost half and there were no crowds.

The Views!
After reading all the bad reviews I was nervous about staying here. Luckily my worries were for nothing. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. I stayed on the second floor with an unobstructed view of the canyon. The view was spectacular and one of the main reasons I booked this. No issues checking in (because I read the instructions) . My only complaint was the microwave or rather lack of. Even 1 in the common room would be helpful. Since I was there in January and it was freezing the park was empty so no issues parking but I could see it being an issue during busy times.

Property was very nice! We had a perfect view right out our window. Only thing is we had a Do NOT DISTURB sign on the door, however at 9:30 housekeeping banged on the door! Other than that it was perfect!

Partial view might be partial or full canyon view
Partial view of the canyon was beautiful! Some rooms have views partially blocked by a tree. Sidewalk outside the window is used during all daylight hours. Cheaper here than through the park vendor website!

Disappointed
My room had an unpleasant smell, and we had to search for the check in location. While we were there our fire alarm went off repeatedly in our room, just bad luck on the timing of our visit, but still very annoying. You could not get to your room on the second floor without dragging your luggage up or down steps, even after using the elevator.

My second time staying and first time for my guests... remains impressive. Location cannot be beat coz its by the rim. Room is clean and Has the basics that we would like in our room including fridge, coffeemaker,! TV and ample electric outlet. Water station refill and ice dispenser conveniently located in the lobby. Parking can be tricky as there's not enough by rhe lodge. Would definitely stay here and recommend.

It is a good thing they alert you that parking is open for the whole National Park with no reserved spots for the hotel. Puts you on the alert for any spot near the property.

The sheets on both beds had a stain (I hope it is a stain and not that the sheets were not washed). I've never seen that in a hotel before. Shower got warm but not hot. Location, of course is amazing. But for that price I do expect clean sheets.
