I recently stayed at the Kanan Tulum Hotel for 8 days. The property and rooms are very nice and gave a very unique experience. Joel at the front desk was the best from the first day greeting us to our last day checking out! I received 3 spa treatments, a master massage, the rejuvenating anti-aging facial and the cocoa wrap. They were all nice, but by far my favorite was the master massage with Laura. I cannot recommend it and Laura enough. Her energy is very calming and therapeutic and adds to the services she provides! We had dinner 1 evening up in a nest overlooking the ocean and that was a fantastic experience and dinner with Ricardo as our server! Totally recommend this as well!!
Now the reason for only 4 stars. The service in the restaurant for breakfast by the beach as well as service on the beach was hit or miss. Many times I had to go up to the bar to order my own drinks or food. 1 day we were offered an umbrella from the sun, another day I asked for an umbrella and was told no, although when I brought up the fact I was provided 1 the day before they did bring and set up 1.
We were upgraded to a partial ocean view room which was lovely! However the entire experience in the room and out in the beach was a little tainted by the competing clubs on both sides of the Kanan, along with the Kanan playing techno music all day every day. The music continued to 1am -2am every night, although I do believe this came from a neighbor club and not the Kanan itself.
