Beautiful atmosphere

The rooms were well presented and very clean, the owners could not make your stay anymore enjoyable We would return and stay there again in heart beat, the breakfast provided was the best we have had in Ireland

Don't assume your reservation is "Guaranteed"!

I would love to tell you that the person I booked this room for had a wonderful stay but I can't. This is the second time I've used hotels.com and the second time it's gone wrong, I won't be using them for anything again. Unfortunately, Somerton House GAVE THE ROOM AWAY to someone they assumed was the person on the booking without actually checking. This meant that on arrival at just 6.30pm the GUARANTEED room reservation was gone. After a heated row, someone at Somerton House had to drive her to the closest and only room they could find available which was in Lisburn and then they had to pay the £120 for the room. Despite this, it was an unnecessary and awkward situation which could have been avoided. The room was booked for a training course the next day and so the move to Lisburn subsequently incurred a long and expensive taxi ride from Lisburn into Belfast in order to get to it. Unacceptable.

Very charming and friendly staff!

Very charming and friendly staff! The shower knob was broken, but everything was clean. Breakfast was delicious!

We enjoyed staying here. It was near the Belfast Castle. The only drawback was that it was a little far from the center of town and we had to take taxis to get around. We were only there one night. Maybe there was a bus going to town.

My holiday

It was fantastic a well needed holiday. the hotel was lovley and the people where very friendly and helpful. didnt want to come home. Will be going back.

Warm and welcoming

I booked Somerton House last minute: arrived late and planned to leave early but had a wonderful stay. Mannix is a wonderful host and I would have no hesitation in returning as well as recommending his fine guest house to others.

Very good B&B!

A very nice B & B. The owners were very helpful in advising on how to get around and even offered to let us leave our car in their yard, after we had checked out, while we toured the city. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was very good.

The worst bed ever!

Our double bed was the worst I've ever slept in. It seemed to slant to one side and it was a very small double bed also. Didn't sleep a wink. We were told breakfast was between 8-9am. We were down for breakfast at 8.30 but had to wait to be seated. Our breakfast wasn't great as they run out of most stuff. Bathroom very basic. Owner was very helpful though.

Lovley place to stay

Three of us stayed here in may for two nights and what a lovely place to stay clean,tidy,comfortable beds in a quiet area with a superb breakfast I would reconmend it.

Wonderful B&B

Nicest B&B we stayed in over 6 weeks of budget travel. Pretty far removed from center city and rail station. Bus system fairly easy to navigate but 15 min. ride from center. Host especially helpful and great breakfast!

Home from home

What was to be a very emotional trip was made easy by the lovely friendly services we received. The room was large and spacious with plenty of storage for our clothes, the on suite bathroom contained a small but sufficient sized shower cubicle. The stay included free wii fii through out the house and a guest lounge for time to read etc. The breakfast service was friendly and speady with the staff remembering our order giving it a even more personal touch. We will definitely stay again on our next trip.

Quiet and super-friendly

We were looking for a quiet retreat and we certainly got it - very inexpensive to get a taxi in and out of town, and no problem finding the place. Very comfortable bed and we really liked the lounge area for guests' convenience. But what made it was the lovely welcome from Mannix and how helpful and friendly he was throughout our stay. Would really recommend this B&B.

Nice room in a family B&B. Family was busy at time of check-in, so did not get a lot of help in finding a place to eat. Sunday evening is tough to find a place to eat close by.

Great place - recommended

Very nice B&B in a quiet suburban area. Friendly and helpful owners. Full Irish breakfast included. Busstop not far away with approx 15 min ride to towncenter. Perfect for a visit to Belfast.
