We just spent two weeks in Berlin, and this apartment was the perfect "home base". The neighborhood was great. Prenzlauer Berg is charming and very convenient for shopping, dining, and transit. Our apartment was clean, lovely and well appointed. The rooms offer exposure to either the street or the courtyard, and they are very quiet. Both our host and our local contact person were very helpful, patient, and made our stay as "stress-free" as possible. If we're ever back in Berlin, we'll definitely try to stay here again!

Perfect place to explore Berlin from.

Beautiful apt in a wonderful neighborhood! So many excellent restaurants, shops, cafes, and parks right at the doorstep. Quick access to transportation as well. We will definitely be back!

It's a lovely place to enjoy Berlin

We did enjoy the stay at the apartment a lot and they are both very gracious and lovely hosts. All went very well, communication was great and promt and they were quite generous. The apartment is wonderful and has a nice personal touch. A few things need a bit of an update - I rented it so we could cook, even though that's madness in Berlin with all the lovely places to eat, but due to dietary restrictions necessary. So I really missed a few things in the kitchen. WiFi worked great but otherwise the technical side is a bit adventurous. But since everything else was so lovely I really think this is just quite a minor point. The art was lovely, we enjoyed exploring it and pondering over the pictures when "home". All in all a great experience and higly recommended.

A comfortable and warm home!

This was our second stay at this wonderful apartment and should we be fortunate enough to return to this great city we most assuredly would stay here again - if it’s available. The apartment is truly a home with all the charm, comfort and feel of an actual home rather than a corporate apartment dressed up to look like a someone’s home. The kitchen is cozy and perfect for lingering at the table over coffee in the morning or cooking a complete dinner which we did on one evening. The living-room is ideal for winding down with wine in the evening and debriefing the day. The neighborhood is great with many young families, restaurants, bakeries and shops. We particularly liked the Hofbrau Alt Wien almost directly across the street. The Austrian menu was excellent, the portions quite large and the beer superb. But be forewarned - it’s generally packed every night with locals and you would be wise to make a reservation. And of course, the S-Bahn is right at the end of the street making the location very convenient to connections at Alexander Platz and all major attractions in the city. In short, our stay in Berlin was truly enhanced by staying in this wonderful apartment. And we really did feel a part of the neighborhood.

We loved our stay here. Location can’t be beat and the accommodation was spacious and well stocked. Maybe an upgrade to linens might be a suggestion but honestly not that big a deal and our host was so wonderful. Would definitely stay again.

Memorable

We enjoyed staying in the apartment and it made our stay memorable. The neighbourhood is safe and has cafes, shops and parks just as we had hoped. There is a tram at the end of the street which makes travelling around Berlin easy. There is even a weekly farmers market close by. The cobblestone street lined with trees is enchanting; with constant surprises as we walked past businesses that have been closed and then suddenly open up. We loved it!

Fantastic apartment in great neighborhood

I want to move into this apartment! Wonderful location near transport cafes shops everything. Comfortable and calm space the sounds of birds in the morning. A kind host and everything one would need to cook rest or feel like a Berliner❤️

We had an amazing time staying in the friendly neighborhood of Prenzlauer ! The apartment is lovely and safe, we would absolutely come back and stay in the neighborhood again! Very close to all bus and tram lines, the owners were very helpful

Outstanding

This was an excellent apartment that was loved and cared for by the owners. We enjoyed everything about it, from the quality furniture to the paintings. The bedroom faced a quiet courtyard so we enjoyed good sleep every night. The kitchen was well stocked and roomy. The water pressure was excellent and the towel warmer was appreciated. My only suggestion to host would be to provide better bed pillows. This could be my personal preference since I like a big fluffy pillow. We loved the neighborhood and access to trams. There is a supermarket close by I’d you like to prepare your own meals. It was a “wunderbar” stay and very reasonably priced. We have stayed in subpar apartments and appreciated the quality of this most recent one. Thank you so much!

Comfortable apartment in a great neighborhood

We really enjoyed our nine days in Prenzlauer Berg during a recent span of gorgeous fall weather in Berlin. Communication with the property manager and caretaker was fast and helpful. The spacious and comfortable apartment is surrounded by a good mix of cafes, restaurants, small shops, grocery stores, and parks (the Volkspark Friedrichshain is a true gem!). Access to other neighborhoods in Berlin on foot or by public transportation is excellent.

Elegant, comfortable apartment in an ideal location

I spent a month in Berlin, partly to get to know the city better, and partly to have some quiet writing time. Achim's apartment was perfect for me. It was comfortable and efficient, furnished with taste and elegance, and very well situated. The neighbourhood is relatively quiet with mostly 4-storey 19th century houses, a lively array of small shops and restaurants on the street, a mere 4 tram stops (or a half-hour walk) from Alexanderplatz. Food markets are a block or two away. Everything was easy, comfortable and straightforward. Achim answered my one or two initial questions promptly and courteously. This is where I will hope to stay on any future visits to Berlin.

Prachtig appartement in een fraaie buurt

de woning heeft vrijwel alles dat je nodig hebt voor een verblijf: snel internet, een goed bed, keuken waarin je kunt koken en klein balkon. De buurt is sowieso fraai, maar ligt bij het park Am Friedrichshein (goed om te rennen bijvoorbeeld) en ligt heel centraal met het OV (snel en frequent met de tram naar Alexanderplatz). We komen zeker terug!

Such a wonderful place

Would definitely return. The neighborhood has everything you need. Its quiet and peaceful. Easy access to transportation to get around the city. The apartment was a lot of space. Kitchen had pretty much everything needed. Communication with property manager was super easy. !0/10

Spring visit to Berlin

The apartment was so lovely. It was spacious and well equipped. Quiet too!On nice days we sat on the balcony. We loved having an elevator! Most days we ate breakfast at La Tazza directly across the street. Great pastries! We will definitely try to come back here!

Top-Lage, ordentliche Ausstattung, aber ...

die Küche war so schlecht gereinigt, dass wir sie während unseres Aufenthalts nicht benutzen wollten: Herd, Schrankoberflächen und Arbeitsflächen schmierig, Wasserkocher stark verkalkt, Besteck und Kochutensilien teilweise mit Essensresten, Pfannenwender angeschimmelt, Waschmaschinen-Waschmittelschublade mit schwarzem Schimmel u.a. Auf Reklamation unfreundliche und unwillige Zusage einer Nachreinigung, die aber nicht durchgeführt wurde. Duschen - nur in der Badewanne möglich - war schwierig, weil die Aufhängung für den Duschkopf defekt war.

A Warm and Comfortable Home

The many favorable reviews of this apartment - and neighborhood - are indeed quite accurate. The apartment IS inviting, comfortable, and bright - and truly feels like a home as opposed to a temporary accommodation. In the morning, the cozy kitchen was most conducive to lingering over coffee and planning the day which we did on several mornings never feeling our time doing so wasn't well spent. At night, the living room was warm and inviting and the perfect room for soft music, nice wine, and a recap of the day. Our only regret was that it was too cold to sit out on the balcony overlooking the street. And of course, not only is the apartment perfect but it is located in a great neighborhood populated with many young families going about their daily routines. It was quite pleasant to feel a part of it all if only for a short time. There are also many restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and grocers - all within a short walk from the apartment rendering shopping or dining quite convenient indeed. In sum, we would happily stay in this home again and have no hesitation in recommending it to you.

Delightful and very well-located

This is a wonderful apartment in a charming neighborhood of Berlin with lots of families, coffee shops, bakery and nearby grocery stores. The building is clean and well-maintained with elegant details in the entry hall. The elevator makes being on the top floor an asset. Transportation is nearby and easy to navigate, and the apartment itself is light, airy, clean and well-outfitted. I was in the apartment for 14 days and will hope to stay there again the next time I am in Berlin.

At home in Berlin

We came to Berlin this September for the Ring Cycle at Staatsoper and settled on this flat initially because of its good transport links. However from the moment we stepped off the M4 tram and turned into the tree lined street with its art deco facades, relaxed cafes and interesting restaurants, bookshop, baker and well stocked corner shop we realised we had fallen on our feet. We took the lift to the 4th floor of a well-appointed art deco block and found the delightful flat that was our home for the next 10 days. This art deco flat was lovely with parquet floors, warm rugs and original art work. The kitchen was well equipped, the bathroom spacious, the bed comfortable and the stair quiet. We started our days with breakfast in the sunshine on the small balcony at the front of the building looking down through the tops of the plane trees and taking in the architectural details of the surrounding buildings. Our hosts were exceptional. They were out of the country at the time but had ensured that the flat had all the comforts we might need with many thoughtful details such as local maps and guide books as well as recommendations for shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. They were also quick and efficient in their response to any difficulties that arose, making clear that their priority was to ensure that our stay was comfortable and hassle free. We found them easy and friendly to communicate with and the fact that they have very good English was an advantage for us too. From this comfortable, secure and elegant base we began our exploration of Berlin. In 10 days we barely scratched the surface, but we will be back.
