Avoid Room 105.
Even though the hotel’s website claims rooms were renovated, room #105 (Standard Double Room) is dated and is very different from the pictures. It’s literally a soulless aged room with no décor/art (which you see in the photos but not in the room).
Things that were advertised were not actually there: hand soap, bathrobe, minibar, and power sockets near the bed (there was only one socket which was taken by the floor lamp).
CONS:
1) The heating system was not working properly (it was a cold January) and I had to wear a winter jacket inside. The heat was set to a maximum 30C (86F) but it felt like 18C (64F).
2) The room faces a lounge with loud music going until 3:00 – it actually didn’t bother me, but it could be a deterrent for others.
PROS:
1) Location! It’s in the middle of everything – shops, cafes, and bars withing – right off the vibrant pedestrian İstiklal Avenue.
2) A rooftop dining room with free breakfast.
3) Friendly and welcoming staff.
