Overall, the hotel was pleasant. Trapped in a time warp, but pleasant.
The room was relatively clean apart from a hairy bathtub with mould growing behind the shower screen, in a bathroom that was far too compact (not enough space to use the loo without knocking loo roll off the holder or catching the shower screen - I'm size 10 so not huge)
There is a bar, but it was never manned - at one point we helped ourselves to wine glasses to share a bottle we bought in town, in our room as no sign of staff anywhere.
Reception was hidden around a corner and compact with staff who were friendly enough but distant. Online the hotel offers checkin from 2pm, but when we tried to check in at 1:55pm we were told check in was at 3pm and we should go away and come back in a bit, we asked about leaving our bags (two small rucksacks) and although we could leave them, it felt like an inconvenience to staff.
At the end of the day, we weren't in London to spend our time in the hotel, the bed was clean and comfortable, and in a convenient location and that was the main thing for us. I wouldn't however stay again.
