”Clean, great staff, nice spa, good food”

”The staff was really nice, they would check up on you and were really friendly. We went mid June and it was a really bad seaweed season, but there were workers working daily cleaning up the seaweed to make the beach accessible. The rooms were clean and pool towels were exchanged nightly. The property itself was a lot smaller than expected, there was one walkway connecting all the buildings to the pool and beach. ”The only complaint that we had was that the hot water in our room took forever to come on in the sink, shower and hot tub. This should be fixed.”

”The room was dirty- sheets torn, stains on linen and robes provides has holes in them. The best thing about the property is the spa. The lobby is pretty and so is the spa area but upstairs where where the rooms are hold a consistent smell of mildew. Check in staff isn't very helpful if you encounter a problem- one lady was and her name escapes me, but I made an error when booking and nobody else went out of their way to help me. ”Excellent stay. Hotel is small which is a huge plus. Felt authentic. Really enjoyed our stay. Rooms could use an update but that did not bother us.”

”We stayed for 9 nights and there was not a day without some kind of mistake or misunderstanding. The staff is very very polite and friendly, but they lack professionalism and training. Some servers in the restaurants don’t speak very good English, so that can be an area of improvement. The overall impression is that the whole operation is out of tune. Strong management and review of all aspects of operations is recommended. Alila is not on par with the rest of the Mayakoba hotels.”
