We arrived at Ocean Riviera Paradise with high hopes after reading glowing reviews, but the experience quickly turned into a letdown. Check-in was painfully slow—not due to a line, but because the receptionist, Lizeth, was unfriendly and slow.
Our rooms smelled of mold and were uncomfortably hot, with noisy fans that couldn’t be used. Transportation around the resort was poorly managed, with long waits in the sun. The buffet was limited and repetitive, and staff were inattentive—we often had to ask multiple times just to get drinks. Many of us, including children, got diarrhea.
There’s no 24/7 snack bar, and when I asked for five cappuccinos at the coffee shop, I was shamed by staff for ordering “too many.” So much for “all-inclusive.”
Booking specialty restaurants was frustrating. When we finally got into La Locanda, our group of 16 was only accommodated if we purchased three bottles of wine for $120. We felt pressured. Service and food were disappointing there and at the Steak House, where meals arrived cold.
A serious safety issue occurred when my pregnant cousin was scratched by a faulty glass door. Staff dismissed it with, “We know, but what can we do?”
The beach was unusable—no sand, no space for kids to play, just seaweed.
Overall, the resort failed to deliver on comfort, service, and basic hospitality. We left extremely disappointed and won’t return. I hope this helps others set realistic expectations.
