Stayed here only because our usual resort was under renovation. Giving 2 stars mainly for the staff, who work very hard and deserve tips.
We booked VIP/Privilege through Expedia, but it was unclear what benefits were included, and it didn’t feel worth the upgrade.
The beach is nice, but there is too much shade from palm trees, so you often have to move sunbeds to find sun. Sunbeds are basic and uncomfortable for long use.
Food was disappointing overall: bland, under-seasoned, sometimes cold, with long waits at restaurants. The Steakhouse was the best à la carte option, but if you want medium-rare steak, order it well done. Mexican restaurant was below average, hibachi nothing special, and room service very limited.
Lobby is dark with uncomfortable seating; lobby bathrooms were not clean and had flushing issues. Lukewarm shower water and lack of bathroom ventilation were also problems.
Only one smoking area near the lobby, no chairs, very uncomfortable.
Staff and animation team were the highlight. Unfortunately, the resort itself did not meet expectations.
